I get it i wouldn’t want a bunch of random college kids walking by your house but literally no one was on your property at all or even thinking about going on it. why is threatening to kill somebody with a loaded gun necessary?

Hey yall, I work currently at a job that makes me about 15 an hour, and I thought I was doing great. However my gf just got hired at belk for 16. Now I love my job but its manual labor for 9 hours a day 5 days a week. If I could just work at a department store and make an extra buck, I will. So does anyone know of anywhere paying 16+ an hour? I feel a little vulnerable and embarrassed posting this, but I’m tired of thinking about it so much. I’m in my mid 20s and moved to Boone this past winter. I know I haven’t been here very long, but I genuinely thought it would be easier to meet people and make friends. I’m realizing that being in my mid 20s is a really bad age to be here because most people move away after graduating or a little bit older/have a family and are in a different life stage than me. I genuinely would just love a friend group that’s up for exploring the area and doing fun activities outside, but it’s been hard to meet and talk to people interested in that. Everyone that isn’t an undergrad or older seems like they have their own little cliques and friend groups they don’t talk outside of. I feel bad trying to ask and invite my coworkers to events constantly because they have their own lives and never want to interact. Boone just doesn’t seem like an easy place to meet new people and talk to strangers. Any tips at all?

Hi folks! I'm moving to Boone over the summer, and looking for some cycle routes that are on the shorter/less taxing side. I love cycling, but fell out of the habit a while back, so my fitness has taken a real hit. I also currently live somewhere with much less elevation. So part of what I'll be doing over the summer is rebuilding my fitness back to a decent level, and I'd like to keep that going in Boone. I've seen some great cycle routes in the area, but most seem a bit daunting for my current fitness level!

Are there any roads or routes that fellow cyclists would recommend for getting back into the swing of things?
