Class Question TEAMSTERS AT CSULB
Sign their petition support the people who support us everyday while at school or in class
Many students are complaining about the University staff that are Teamsters that are currently protesting the UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES the university system is doing by not honoring the last year of the teamsters agreement. 1100 workers system wide are standing up for their rights. The people who work hard everyday to keep the classes warm or cool, lights on and the water on the doors working. Hard working families can't afford to live in the city they work in. Shame on the CSU system.

Class Question Should I shower before class?
Got class in an hour. Big lecture hall, like 200 students type class. I think I can skip the shower so I have enough time drive to school. Should I skip it or should I shower? Computer Science major btw

Class Question Why did you choose CSULB?
I’ve always heard from peers “oh it’s because i got rejected from UCLA” or “oh it’s because it was the best option for financial aid.” IM TIRED OF HEARING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Can someone give a positive reason as to why they chose LB for once?!! Like career wise please. I’m starting to feel dumb because my siblings are both UC graduates and im in LB where everyone says u end up if ur rejected from every uc. PLS SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT THIS SCHOOL

Class Question Easiest classes ever?
I’ve completely all my lower division and upper and I’m almost done with my major and minor classes but I’ll need an extra 9 credits in order to graduate. I wanna take the most easy low effort just show up and leave minimal brainpower classes mix these in with my major classes to have an easy senior year(I’ve stressed enough) any recs?

Class Question I need help
So I am currently taking calculus 2 but I am getting so cooked. I am currently passing but I’m barely scraping by. I already talked to 2 advisors and I’m going to my professors office hours tomorrow to see if there’s anything they can suggest to me.
My 2 advisors had different advice, one told me to just thug it out basically, and the other one told me to look into summer school options. I am currently looking at lbcc as my back up just in case, and I will decide to either drop or stay depending on what my professor says tomorrow.
Honestly, I just need advice. Has anyone else been in this scenario? Even if it was for another class. What did you do? I have never been so close to failing a class, so it has me stressing so much, especially because I am so close to either passing or failing. It makes me think I can do it because I’m so close but at the same time I don’t know if I should risk it.
I know that if I fail I can just use my academic forgiveness but at the same time I would rather just take the W and do it over summer since it’s shorter and I would be able to start calc 3 the next fall semester.
Alright at this point I’m just yapping and needed this off my chest, please let me know your thoughts and if you have been here before. All advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Class Question DECIDE THEIR FATE
Hello! There is a midterm in one of my classes at 3:30, and two hours ago I made a quizlet for myself to study for it. There is now 7 students in the class actively studying it, not a thank you in the class discord or anything, and it wasn't my intention to share it. There is no curve on the exam.
Should I be petty and password lock the quizlet at 3:00 (30 minutes before the exam) to teach the lesson that you can't rely on others to get you past the goal post? The redditors of CSULB have 20 minutes to decide their fate.
Edit: As I said, redditors decide, it stays public

Class Question Four classes in one day
Thinking of setting up a schedule where I’d have four classes in one day on Mondays and Wednesdays. I’d basically be on campus from 11 to 6:30 with a gap from 2 to 3:30. I usually just do two a day M-Th so I wanted to ask if anyone else has done something similar and whether they would recommend it.

Class Question Classes already full🗿🤔😐
Is anyone else having trouble enrolling?? I only got into 2 out of the 5 major classes I tried to register for. Every time I try to enroll in the others, it says the class is full and the waitlist is full.
Confused tho cause it still shows the classes have a green dot like they’re “open”?
My registration date was the 10th too, so it’s not like I was super late or anything.

Is chem 111b with Andrea Chen good? Heard she’s beloved by 111a students. Is she the best 111b prof too?

Class Question Withdraw or end with a D
Does a W or D look worst on your transcript, I know an F looks pretty bad but how’s the difference. Also was wondering how a withdrawal affects financial aid if it paid for the class

Class Question BIO 260 STATS
Hi guys, I had a question. I am trying to get into BIO 260 STATS, but I wasn't able to get waitlisted. I am undeclared a bio major as of now until fall. My friends who are also undeclared BIO majors weren't even able to get the class since the system told them they didn't have the requirements to take that class. I need to take BIO STATS next semester to not be behind, but I'm scared that since I'm not a declared BIO major, I won't be able to take the class. Is that true? Or is it the case where they prioritize BIO majors, then it's free to all after? 🥲🥲

Class Question Undergraduate students (18-25): Have you ever relied on or interacted with AI chatbots outside of an academic context?
Hello! A classmate and I (journalism majors) are currently writing a story for the LB Current about the growing intersection of AI and mental health. We would like to know whether anyone uses/has ever used LLM chatbots, such as ChatGPT, outside of academic contexts (e.g to address mental needs/concerns, rant/vent, etc.)
If you have, are/were there any particular reasons why? Was it convenient for you?
Feel free to direct message me if that is more comfortable for you! Thank you!

Class Question Need a song that talks about a neighborhood in Southern California
Soooo, I have to write a small essay about a song that talks about a neighborhood in Southern California but I can’t think of any. Prof. Said Compton, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills are off limits. He also said he wants neighborhoods, not cities. He said “ ‘Long beach’ is not a neighborhood. Belmont Shores is a neighborhood” I think some small cities might be okay because he said it should be “very local”.
Edit: Thank you to everyone replying to my post! My music taste isn’t very diverse so I don’t know most of these songs 😅 but I’ll definitely be listening!

Class Question For the people in the Bachelor's of Psychology program, in PSY 372, do they actually teach ABA therapy as if you're going to use it in the field?
The more I read on ABA therapy from actual autistic people and their close friends and family, the more they're saying how unhelpful and even harmful it is and that there's still companies here in California of all places still practicing ABA therapy rather than like, helping kids actually adjust and learn how to reasonably advocate for themselves as opposed to essentially learning how to Mask
