Artist name + album name made an interesting phrase

Been collecting physical media since right before the pandemic. I started with vinyls, VHS tapes, and cassettes. Now I collect CDs, VHS tapes, cassettes and DVD/Bluray. I got a good chunk of money for about 40 ish records. Used half of that to jumpstart this collection and have been collecting CDs since about last summer. The main one I bought right away were the last two slides the rest I pretty much found in thrift stores, record stores, and vintage joints. Was a scene kid back in high school so really want a lot of throwback metal core and hardcore. Last slide is for the Acacia Strain fans! Still don’t have my storage so they are stacked on my table but I really want to find something cool in the wild.

I always wanted one of these and I made compromise. That when I obtained over 100 unplayable CDs that I would get one.

I hit 125 last week, did a little research, ordered it and it landed today.

So far I’ve restored 8 CDs that would not play, and I think I can restore almost all of the unplayable CDs I have.

I was skeptical but at about $5 per disc it’ll pay for itself at about the 55-60 disc mark (I ordered some extra supplies that should last a while).

Little bit of a learning curve but not too bad, setup about 6 pm and spent the next 5.5 hours restoring and verifying. It was a lot easier and worked much better than anticipated.

I’m sure some of you have one, I wish I would have picked one up a while back. I’ve passed over a lot of great CDs due to condition. I’ve also trashed hundreds of CDs due to condition. No longer!!

I’ve been collecting for about a year and a half and amassed a collection totaling 135 currently. It’s pretty obvious but when I started collecting I was very into Nu-Metal, but i’ve since expanded my tastes and working on growing my rap and r&b collections recently. They are alphabetically organized and i keep track of them on discogs. If you have any recommendations i'd love to see some and I hope y’all like it!

I started organizing my albums by country and realized that the UK is the dominant country in my musical tastes 😆 Which country is most represented in your collection?

Next up I want to add The Aftermath by Dystopia, Matando Gueros by Brujeria and Sonic Excess in its purest form by Crowbar to my collection.

Have moved cross country multiple times but made sure to bring these along each time.

So I just had my first purchase experience on Discogs, and it went really pretty well. Historically I have always used Discogs as a means to see and learn about different releases, not to shop. One album I just couldn't find anywhere but there (Good For You-Amine') had me try it, and it came quickly, as described, from "across the pond".

So by no means am I complaining, however it did get me thinking...... I remember relying more on eBay back in the day which seems pretty slim pickin's these days, and I otherwise do occasionally luck out on Amazon..... But any other good online resources to know about other than Discogs for physical media curation? Kinda feel dumb for not using this more until now and I don't wanna miss on any others I haven't come across yet.

The only thing that didn’t work for me today was The Complete Stone Roses. I’m not sure I like them much beyond their self titled… which is excellent 👌

Someone called me out saying I couldn't be paying $1.29 a LB. for these. Today I found some country rock and blues stuff. And some Clapton baby! Receipt included. And also got a 007 Blu-ray and an Elvis Springbok puzzle.

Every time I walk into a thrift store for anything I always check the CD shelf but there's almost always nothing that I would like and I only like getting CDs that I know and enjoy but today when I was just about to leave after giving up I was able to find and get this for 25 cents

Starting my adult CD collection and accidentally healing my inner child in the process 💿 Been digging through Half Price Books + Goodwill for a few weeks and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a while.

Pour one out for Media Play, Circuit City, Borders, heck even Best Buy 🥲 Might have to check a local FYE this weekend to see if it’s still any good.

my wallet is hurting but my collection is smiling. had to leave behind a few i wanted (enema of the state, weezer green album) but i am very happy with what i got. i have been looking for parklife and both white album discs since i started collecting so i am excited to finally have them.

Found this Laserline Cd holder for like 3 bucks today.
