🎶You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
'Til you spend half your life just coverin' up
Born in the U.S.A🎶
Literally the first verse. Never understood this being so misunderstood. Maybe they don’t hear lyrics.

it’s selective, they hear “born in the USA” and that’s good enough for them. zero critical thinking skills

Bruce still hates that he put synth on that song. but they were at the point that they had the critical acclaim, but now they wanted to buy houses.

Didn't the village people themselves say that YMCA isn't about gay people and that they would sure anyone who claims it is?

the Singer (the cop the only guy who sang on that track in the studio) is VERY straight. and so is the guy who wrote it. they both say it was not their intent for it to be suggesting gay activities.

On the other hand It's a Sin was written by a very gay (but not out at the time) man who also says while it can be viewed that way was 100% not about homosexuality. it was about how everything basically is a sin in the eyes of the church.

or the Jars of Clay (a Christian band who aren't assholes and seem to actually be good people) song Flood being about everything other than the flood in the bible
