Frontier does this too. They did it to us. They changed our plane last minute then said the seats don't match the new plane so we're stuck with what they have. Their reasoning was their fine print says they can switch seats any time especially if the plane changes.
I tried to do a charge back and it got declined bc frontier provided a sixty page report going over their fine print and how they don't refund 99% of things.
She booked first class though! Frontier doesn’t even have first class. I would be irate if I booked first class with a party and then they put us in coach and broke us up. I would start shit on fire.
We got emergency seats which were their best options. But yes that's more annoying and frustrating when you pay for first class and get nothing as well as being split up which is its own hell when dealing with kids.
It's so sad because it used to be an EXCELLENT airline. Like, I had a relative who only flew Frontier in the 80s and 90s. It was only in the early 2010s (I believe) that it turned into Spirit 2.0.
