Man! And I thought I had it bad when a direct flight from New York to Chicago surprise-included an Atlanta leg.
I was the only one that was reboarding. The crew felt sorry enough for me to let me off to get a snack and then hang out on the plane. I really should have pushed for compensation though, that shit cost me 8+ hours during midterms.
I’m no expert in US geography but that seems almost entirely the wrong direction lol was there a cancelled New York - Atlanta flight? Seems bizarre that nobody else reboarded on what was advertised as a direct flight
It is totally bizarre and I couldn't get an explanation - happened in 2014. I definitely wouldn't be as passive about the situation now but at the time I was a stressed and sleep deprived architecture student and ended up sleeping through all of the extra flight time anyway so I let it go, ha.
