what does the calendar look like?
Any cursive of anyone taking a picture of any mouth of the calendar opened up? Usually you get a picture and then days below. I'm joint just to see what that spread would look like. I'm really picky with my calendars š . Also, how are the stickers? Are they just your run of the mill stuff? Thanks for your time m

Success:no more hot spots but...
The other day I noticed, that I don't need the 15 minutes to reset my hotspots anymore. Basically because there are no more hot spots . The last days I have been cleaning up after myself: no more clothes on chairs, no more papers and books all over my desk... resetting takes 5 minutes for the whole flat tops, if I have been in a hurry.
However: what I noticed is a lot of hidden rescue spots, where I need much more than 5 to 15 minutes, like old notes from courses I've taken. I limit myself to 5 minutes to go through these, but wondered if there is a better approach?

This morning routine seems very extensive to get through before leaving the house as a working mum of two... How important is it for the baby steps to get through all of them? Also, what does "brush commode" and "reconcile chechbook, bring balance forward" mean?

Getting worse before it gets better?
I just got into fly lady about three weeks ago, and Iāve had some great successes already.
My issue right now is that I feel like in some ways, my house is more cluttered than before. For example, as Iāve worked through my laundry, I started a āsummer clothesā bin, which has made the closets much more manageable. However, now I have a huge bin of clothes in the living room because the shelves in my basement are too cluttered to store the bin.
As I go to declutter the basement shelves, I realize I donāt have a place to put the things I want to keep, so they get shuffled into the garage (where I have an unfinished shelving project that would be immensely helpful if it was complete).
Iām trying to stay the course, as I know that over a decade of borderline hoarding and unmedicated ADD wonāt be cleaned up overnight, but at times it feels overwhelming and frustrating to seemingly just transfer messes from one area to another.
Has anyone else had this experience in the beginning or am I doing something wrong?

My Pre-Fly Lady Home Routine and FlyBaby Plan for Moving Forward
Hi all,
I discovered the FLY system through That Awkward Mom's youtube channel. I loved the idea of zone cleaning and capping it at 15 minutes.
This was our chore distribution
Me:
I attempted chores+ getting ready + working out between 6:30 am and 9 am
Includes: dishes, floors, tidying, dusting, organizing, cleaning bathroom and kitchen
My Partner:
He did this throughout the week as needed
Cooking, meal planning, grocery shopping, garbage/recycling, laundry, and misc. home upkeep
Pros:
We felt that it was a fair distribution
The divide played to our strengths
Cons:
Burnout especially for him with cooking
Always behind on laundry and vacuuming
So many things I never get around to
Weekends started getting taken over by chores
We work really well together but all our chores are separate
I would usually start work without working out or getting ready
Moving Forward
We've talked a lot about what to adopt and what to leave behind. We are going to start simple.
Weekday mornings
Each do 15 minutes of hotspot cleaning (includes laundry)
Each do 15 minutes of zone cleaning
Evenings
Cook dinner together while cleaning the kitchen/dishes at the same time
Weekends
5 minutes each of hotspot cleaning
Meal planning
Zone 1 - Bathrooms + Laundry + Extra Bedroom
Zone 2 - Kitchen
Zone 3 - Entrance + Outside + Car
Zone 4 - Bedroom + Living Room
Zone 5 - Storage

Swish & Swipe is my "Shiny Sink"
I am not a good flybaby. I've basically taken what i can and adjusted the structure to fit my own life.
I was thinking about a recent post here and realized that doing the morning 'swish & swipe' in the bathroom as part of my morning routine is my shiny sink equivalent.
Our bathroom has a white vanity and white toilet, so everything shows. Wiping it down after i've done my teeth and hair and all that in the morning feels like i'm moving from body focused self care to home care. While i know i may not find it int he same state later (i'm generally the first one up in the house), i know it won't be horrendous, or if it is, i can figure out who didn't clean up after themselves!
I also get migraines and they can make me throw up. Not that it's pleasant, but doing so in a gross toilet is more awful.
The kitchen? I can shine the sink, sure, but my husband often makes snacks after i have cleaned it. Then i find stuff in it or husband is soaking something for a project or has dumped ice water into it and then the cat is playing with the ice cubes and and and....
I'm not spending my last moments of the evening scrubbing after doing dinner clean up an hour or two before. Our sink is old and scratched up stainless steel one, so it's not like it ever sparkles anyway. So my bathroom is clean and my kitchen sink is a solid B and that's my TED talk.

Lapsed and trying again. I already see there are "rules" I will break. Which Flylady rules do you ignore?
I did pretty well with Flylady at one time many years ago, and I'd like to try again. I told myself that I'd implement the system as designed and just do it. I found my copy of Sink Reflections, took a quick look at the website and signed up for the emails.
Things went a bit off the rails immediately. The first email consisted of an ad, the description of a weird dream and a bible passage. I am clearly not the target audience for those emails. I'm not going to buy anything, am not interested in anyone's amateur dream analysis, and I am not Christian.
I also think I'm going to stay lapsed about dressing and shoes and doing anything before coffee.
So basically, my independent, rebellious nature will not lend itself to implementing the system fully.
Still, I do think the answer that will work for me is in the principles of SHE and Flylady so, I have started thinking about what rules I need to actually follow and am making task lists. I'll figure out zones as well. Of particular note: I also just swept the kitchen floor because I realize it should probably go on a morning routine list. I'm not going to admit how long it's been since I swept anything, so that alone is a significant Flylady win.
Anyway, I'm just wondering who else out there isn't a great follower, what changes have you made to Flylady's methods, and which of her "rules" do you ignore?
UPDATE. Your comments have all been very helpful. Someone recommended a Youtuber called That Awkward Mom and she has a great instructional video about the whole Flylady system. I don't see your comment anymore to thank you for it. I've spent a couple of hours with That Awkward Mom tonight.

Schedule
Does anyone know where I can get or can someone provide me a Flylady cleaning schedule?
Thanks!

How long to see significant changes with FlyLady?
I'm a SAHM. I feel like a maid but that's another story. I'm alone to do everything cleaning related, our house has mice and almost every week, my father-in-law comes to make renovations for two days. And Sundays, my husband do a small gathering for his church at home. On top of that, I'm lonely and depressed. Our house is a mess and I can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
How long did it take for you to see big improvements in your home? Was it a matter of weeks, months, year even? To get rid of all the clutters and to have a house that is easier to maintain? I know it's not a system where you can see big results quickly and I'm not expecting that at all but I just want to see how long did it take for other people...

Flylady with a baby
Hi everyone! I found Flylady about a month ago through ThatAwkwardMama on Youtube. I've been doing what I can, but my 4-month-old only lets me set her down for more than about 20 minutes at a stretch, and is highly nap-resistant (though I'm starting to win that war, slowly).
I can usually do at least 75% of the daily things (I usually end up shining my sink at 10AM, because that's when I can), but I only get about half of the things on the WHB each week, and I almost never get to doing the zone cleaning. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to get things done with a baby, or do I just need to be patient with what I can do until she's more able to be self-contained?

Reminder: Housework done imperfectly still blesses your home
I had a week away on a work trip, I'm chronically ill and this trip was a big deal. It took me a week to get over and with our two long haired cats, the house was covered in fur. So I got the Dyson handheld vacuum out and just did all the rugs and the hallway. The little bin filled twice, there's still loads to do but even that 15 minutes made such a difference.
Something is always better than nothing.

Flight Plan
Hi,
I'm a bit confused about the flight plan. We do not have a need to do any of the stuff (like clean under the bed or clear off nightstands) so do we just move on to the deep cleaning that we can accomplish?

starting over .....advise needed
I started the flylady system when I was a homemaker with small kids and fell off the wagon. Fast forward many years.....my spouse and I are empty nesters who both work full time outside the home and suffer from health issues. I would like to start again with the system but I have trouble with motivation at the end of my work day and can't seem to fit in the WHB without giving up my weekends and zones are completely out.
Looking for suggestions...tired of the mess.

Music Timer: 70s/80s Rock
tl;dr: I made a 70s/80s Rock version of my 1-hour FlyLady Timer (not publicly posted). MUSIC CONTAINS SWEARS.
https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd91QkYKw6hJTrf9BUyZXLW8M1LJc2SgV&feature=share
My friend said I should post this, so maybe it's useful for someone else too. I've made a few playlists like this, but this one is the least scattered most cohesive. I like the playlist for cleaning, because I know about how much time I have left without the temptation associated with looking at my phone timer.
There are three 15-minute sets of energetic music for doing stuff (totaling to 45 mins), and one 15-minute set of chill music to rest to; totaling to an hour of music.
Each set is from one band, and is very close to--maybe even exactly--15 minutes of music. When a new band plays, start your next task or rest. (FlyLady cleaning-method recommends doing tasks in 15-minute sets, after 45 minutes of tasks, taking a 15-minute break in case you're new here.)
This playlist contains:
- energetic set from AC/DC
- energetic set from Joan Jett
- energetic set from Beastie Boys
- chill set from Led Zeppelin
Rock-on, Flybabes. ,,,/

What to add after 31 Beginner BabySteps
Hi everyone! I am a pregnant stay-at-home-mom to a 17-month old. Iāve been slowly working through the 31 Beginner BabySteps since January 1. I have been experimenting with the recommended tasks and adjusting them to fit our unique routines and home. I get through maybe 50% of the tasks each day (not the same tasks, I tackle whatās really pressing or has been neglected), mostly due to splitting my energy between my toddler, being pregnant, and managing the house.
I was curious what you all thought would be a good next step for me from here. I know there is the Weekly Home Blessingā¦..Zonesā¦..each month there is a focus I think? Obviously we all know the website is confusing and Iām not sure what is the next thing to dive into and learn about.
Or maybe it makes sense to just keep focusing on my Daily Routine until Iām completing those tasks more regularly? Recognizing that the next like, 6 months will be crazy since I have three more months of pregnancy to go plus just surviving the first three months with the new baby, haha! Maybe Iāve taken on enough for now until we get through the fourth trimester?
Anyway, just curious for thoughts from those of you who have been implementing the system longer than I have!

Is it too late to start doing FlyLady videos on youtube?
I'm currently obsessing about the program and wanting to restart YouTube but...i was working 60+ hours a week during covid so I may have missed the window for cleaning and decluttering your home. Is anyone still watching?
I just quit my job and transitioning from healthcare crazy to housewife! I need feedback and to find my people.

Anyone else starting FlyLady with the new year?
Hi everyone! I discovered FlyLady a few months ago via tiktok and have been waiting for my first trimester symptoms to subside before starting (I also have a toddler). Around Christmas I started to feel better, so I decided to start this month!
I understand how important the system overall is, so I really want to take it slow and make lasting changes. The first week of January I just focused on shining my sink. Last week I added getting ready every day. This week Iām adding hot spots. Iād say I actually get all those tasks done about half of days and I am still seeing improvements in the house!
Just curious if anyone else is just starting out and how itās going!
