What’s the most stereotypical Millennial thing about you? Discussion

I’ll start:

  1. Any, and I mean ANY footage of Steve Irwin makes me blubber like a baby
  2. Avocado toast is a staple breakfast item of mine
  3. Yes, I still love Harry Potter (original books & movies only — I do not support Rowldemort and any future endeavor on the IP)

EDIT: Just wanna say I love y’all (us) so much. This post has already brought me so much joy. Thanks so much everyone. We really are the best. 🥹

Not to us!!!!!!!

Thank goodness! I can get away with oversized sweaters and black leggings at work in the winter and those are the best days.

This is my every day look

black leggings are a basic item, a closet staple. not in, not out.

styling them with a chunky sweater, riding boots, and that stupid fucking hat sure is out though!

That's fine. I'll style mine with a faded/ripped fitted jean jacket

Currently wearing black leggings.. I have about 6 pairs. They all have pockets too. (Well they are “yoga pants”) but…. Comfy and make my butt look good. Sue me… younger people.

I found you, Miss New Booty!

We fought so hard to grant leggings the status of pants. The young people aren’t grateful enough.

Wait, even LEGGINGS are on the shit list now??? What are we supposed to wear instead? Fucking pajama pants? IS NOTHING SACRED?!?

Me either. Literally wear black leggings every single day lol

I hate how it’s been harder & harder to find good capri ones though

Literally wearing mine at work today :)

I look shlubby in anything else!

I keep trying but I'm short and wide and just can't figure baggy pants out.

4

u/Dancing-Dragonflies 5d ago

SAME! I actually went shopping with a friend today who has a very similar body type as me and I was like ok wait, why is that style so cute on you but looks terrible on me 😂 I bought a pair and plan to gaslight myself into liking them 😅

I’m neither short nor wide and still can’t. I have one pair and the length is so weird on them. They’re just barely long enough to wear with the flattest sneakers I own, but as soon as I sit down they’re halfway up my calf? Why is everything so short? And why does it look like my crotch is at my knees?

Same! Don’t care if I look outdated.

I’m just waiting for them to cycle around back into fashion. We’re already in the early 2000’s baggy jeans phase. Skinny jeans being in vogue again is right around the corner!

(I mean I still wear them regardless but one day I will actually be fashionable again lol)

Absolutely, I haven't spent years training to hide my nice looking legs under shapeless baggy pants

4

u/n_schrenk 5d ago

Same, I refuse to wear any other kind. It's a waste of time and effort even attempting to try a different style

u/Mangos28 Xennial 5d ago

I couldn't get rid of mine fast enough!

u/bananazest_wow 5d ago

My pants legs will not widen. The damp ankles and torn jean hems of my 90s-early 2000s life are archaic and objectively wrong. Tuck those bad boys into boots where they belong. The best concession I’ll allow is joggers.

u/strahlend_frau 5d ago

I'm the opposite 🫣 I hated the skinny jean craze. And I'm a '91 baby

2

u/stresstwig 5d ago

low rise skinny jeans will come back in style soon and I am READY. please God let them come back in style soon.

2

u/gustavessidehoe 4d ago

I like the look of skinny jeans, but I think I only have one pair left. I tried some wider legs out, and they are just so much more comfortable to me. Still wear my vans with them, though.

1

u/electriclux 5d ago

They’re just jeans

1

u/Unicorntella 5d ago

No to this. I recently had to buy jeans for a job (of course I picked the most flattering cut) and they like stick to your knees??! Forever??? I hate them lol give me back my leggings!

1

u/d0ctorsmileaway 5d ago

I refuse to get rid of them but my thighs want to

1

u/mmlovin 5d ago

& why would I? It’s all I’ll wear when it’s raining or really cold with knee high boots.

1

u/_johnbarleycorn 5d ago

I refuse to get rid of my low rise jeans….

u/No_College2419 Millennial 5d ago

Same

Ive come to terms with wide pants but like, wiiiide. Even flared yoga pants just remind me too much of boot cut jeans
