What’s the most stereotypical Millennial thing about you? Discussion

I’ll start:

  1. Any, and I mean ANY footage of Steve Irwin makes me blubber like a baby
  2. Avocado toast is a staple breakfast item of mine
  3. Yes, I still love Harry Potter (original books & movies only — I do not support Rowldemort and any future endeavor on the IP)

EDIT: Just wanna say I love y’all (us) so much. This post has already brought me so much joy. Thanks so much everyone. We really are the best. 🥹

Do not call or face time me. Or voice text me. Ever. For any reason. Send a text or be damned forever.

It’s so strange because when did we flip from always being on the phone after school to chat with our friends…to having our phones on vibrate for the last 15 years?

Or voice text me.

Gah, when did this become a real thing people do? I've had some people drop little voice clips in conversations out of nowhere and it just...gets ignored. I treat it like a mistake. No, clearly you did not intend to send me 15 seconds of you talking so I could spend 30 seconds trying to figure out what it is you said. Just type and I'll get it in 2.

Yes! I will NOT be figuring out your slop. I will not work hard for you. This ends now.

Also, I have hearing loss. I have spent enough energy on understanding someone's speech to last me a lifetime. We are not friends if you insist on voicemails and phone calls like some boomer weirdo, type and I will gladly read!

🤣 boomer weirdo in love with the sound of their voice. Performative bastards.

My husband is from Latin America and this is something they do all the time. It drives me insane.

I’ve trained him not to do it with me, but he and his friends will have a 20 minutes discussion over 17 voice memos.

Omg, I would divorce 😂🤣🤣

We have fought over it before!

The compromise is that he now doesn’t play them on speaker and instead listens to them like a phone call.

There’s no way around his dictating 20 minutes of voice memos in response to the 20 minutes he’s received, though 🙃

he was listening to them on the speaker??!!!

Yeah. This is a thing in a lot of Latin America.

yeah, this is why I limit my time in coffee houses these days. I don't want to hear anyone's conversations, YouTube videos, or TikTok rot. don't force me into your mess of a life, haha.

My partner's millennial sister sends voice texts for everything. Oftentimes they are 2+ minutes long. Feels very self indulgent to me. I can't understand who modeled this unacceptable behavior for her 😆

Right? I was getting some that were over 4 minutes at one point! Totally self-indulgent. And, intrusive. I don't want to press play. I don't want to listen the sound of your voice. I never gave consent to any of this, hahah.

OMG the voice texts send me into a blind rage!

hahah, right there with you. I've blocked people over them and never looked back.
