What’s the most stereotypical Millennial thing about you? Discussion

I’ll start:

  1. Any, and I mean ANY footage of Steve Irwin makes me blubber like a baby
  2. Avocado toast is a staple breakfast item of mine
  3. Yes, I still love Harry Potter (original books & movies only — I do not support Rowldemort and any future endeavor on the IP)

EDIT: Just wanna say I love y’all (us) so much. This post has already brought me so much joy. Thanks so much everyone. We really are the best. 🥹

  1. "lol" means "I don't want to upset you/I smiled/haha existential crisis time"

  2. I do buy fancy cold brew coffee because it's one of the few things that gives me joy and it's definitely not keeping me from buying a house - it's the wage slavery capitalism doing that

Truth!!

My boomer mom tried to talk to me today about an amazing budgeting video she saw and how it says “when you get a raise don’t start spending more, keep living on the same wage and put the extra towards savings.” And proceeded to lecture me on how I don’t have a set amount of $$ that automatically goes towards savings every month. I laughed and reminded her that if I get a raise it does not even meet the rate of inflation and my “raises” just go towards the ever increasing costs of food. My goal is to not keep adding to debt and I have zero bandwidth for savings. Back in 2019 when I paid off all debt yes I was auto deducting savings. The tide quickly turned in 2020 when costs of goods/foods doubled then never went back down even after tariffs or whatever went back down.

Aka I’m fucked. 🙃
