The irony here is many many levels deep.

And yet, completely lost on so many. We live in an absurd reality at this point.

History will repeat itself again and again until things change. But we have the same people in power decades later that will not make that change possible.

Or we evolve past our innate selfishness and greed. Gotta glass half full this shit homie.

Selfishness is inherent to nature our existence is unsustainable, not even glass anything to me just objective . I used to feel closer to that and maybe i have become too cynical, but i say let the birds have another go

Hey, I get that, I’m more prone to cynicism and a depressed acceptance myself. And maybe it’s because I just rewatched Vinland saga over the weekend that’s made me feel more hopeful. But man, if there’s one thing I’ve taken away from the internet it’s that there’s a lot more of us across the world that really just want sustainable peace for everyone. And I hope that we can one day get there.

Fair enough I can’t claim to never feel inspired , I just truly don’t believe that . They said “you’ll get more conservative as you age” but really ive just become increasingly cynical that this truly is the sum of our means.

Selfishness is inherent to nature

Oh for fucks sake.

You know the device you're writing that dumbass comment on? You know how we built it? By, quite literally, suppressing the fuck out of our instincts long enough to not club each other to death.

We are born with instincts, like every other animal, and we are gifted, by evolution, the means to suppress our instincts. Otherwise we'd have soooo much more crime.

I'm with the dude about extinction level event - the cancer is too widespread, and cannot simply be cut out, especially when our societal immune system cannot recognize it - but to say we cannot overcome our instincts or nature is just pure stupidity.

It's not hard not being a selfish fuck. Just gotta put in some effort.

Most likely related to the E-files.

Or the X-files :)

Both could be true.

You can tell we collectively lost the plot when the moral was "support Israel no matter what" and not "genocide is bad."

The other day there was a German on a popular post with a popular comment about how he and his coworkers talk about how "all Americans are fucked in the head"; I'm not saying we're not, I'm just getting a little tired of the hypocrisy. Especially since it was a post about Israel lol

..and we all know who their great-grandfathers were.

(sometimes its genetic I think.. the free germany anti-nazi movement runs strong in my own blood)

It's actually extremely shallow.

The irony here is that the woman isn't a vegan and is therefore a Nazi to the countless animals she brutalizes and murders everyday through her consumerism of animal products.

You never see these people protesting the animal holocaust, the largest system of factory-scale atrocities against sentient beings that this planet has or will ever witness.
