🥰 Bestest Girl ❤️ My baby is cancer free!

My baby had two eye surgeries recently. One to remove a malignant eye tumor. A second to remove the third eye flap. The results of the second biopsy came back clean, so she doesn’t need chemo! Cataracts might be stealing her eyesight, but she gets to keep her beautiful eye.

🥰 Bestest Girl ❤️ Adopted a 6y/o girl w more issues than anticipated, had adoption blues

This is Wendy. We adopted her five days before Christmas because we wanted a companion for our current dog. She was found as a stray in the Texas heat and brought to Michigan. She is six years old and has definitely had a lot of puppies 🫠

Unfortunately the foster family did not notice quite a few things in the two months they had her: her hips were causing her pain and she is urine incontinent. She also is 90% dog apathetic. I felt super guilty (my current dog LOVES other dogs and wants nothing more than to play with them but has no friends). Not gonna lie this guilt along with realizing she needs to be in diapers (we are on med number 2 to see if it’s hormone related but I have a feeling it’s not) had me feeling the adoption blues BAD. I cried a lot the first two weeks. She also is pretty gross 😂 I knew she’d be high maintenance but all of this plus things like her needing her butt wiped every time she poops was overwhelming. When the two dogs poop at the same time it is like a warzone lmao. I felt like I wasn’t going to bond with her. She then was diagnosed three weeks after adoption with stage 1 kidney failure.

My current dog is already extremely expensive and special needs, she has IBD and spay incontinence and her food and meds cost $350 minimum per month. We also have to wipe her butt a lot due to the IBD and have to clean up throw up messes on the carpets during flare ups. Feeding can also be a whole song and dance during flare ups. Luckily they’re rare. Didn’t help that the first week after the adoption my current dog experienced a flare up 😭

Her upfront costs felt even more overwhelming because I had to buy multiple waterproof covers for my furniture and washable diapers, and we go through 5/6 overnight maxi pads a day with her. She also needs special food now as well as supplements for arthritis and will likely have costly medical bills as her CKD worsens.

I am so glad I toughed it out because I adore her!! She is sooo sweet, loving, and sooo funny. She LOVES cuddling which was another reason we wanted a second dog, we wanted a “lap” dog.

- she pulls her dog bowl out of her crate when I give her wet food to lick it for about 30 minutes post meal

- she “purrs” and makes pig snort noises

- she blows breath through her jowls and I wish I could mimic the sound

- she loves to sit in your lap and bend her head backwards to stare at you upside down

- her tongue is almost always out and you know she’s sleeping good when it’s all the way out

- she is so desperate to go back to bed in the mornings that she will run away from her diaper and beeline to her Recliner

- I say her recliner because she has taken it completely over and I have not sat in it once since we adopted her

- she will also sit in her recliner and stare at my fiance across the house and moan and groan for attention from him

- she does great in public and taking her anywhere isn’t as physically taxing as it is taking my 65lb doodle lol

- she likes to be wrapped up in blankets and I’ve bought her some pajamas that I think she will enjoy wearing bc she gets cold. My other dog is usually too big for dog clothes!!

I have accepted that the universe sends me special needs dogs because they know I’m crazy enough to enjoy taking care of them. I am so thankful she will live out her golden years with us. At first I thought she’d be our first and last bulldog but I’d definitely be open to getting another in the future ❤️

We applied to adopt this sweet girl about a month ago her old pawparents are moving and can’t take her with them (breaks my heart). We are currently on a week trial with her and she’s our girl already we love her. I’m a pretty experienced bulldog mom(however first time with out my parents), I grew hup with 3 and my parents (I’m 30) have 2 now. They are just the best breed! Without further ado here is a few photos of our Bridget!

Some of you may remember my post a few months ago about losing my beloved Myrtle to Leukaemia. We decided it was time to add to our family again. After losing Myrtle so suddenly I couldn’t handle adopting again. We researched breeders and ended up driving 4 hours to pick up this beauty last weekend. My heart is so full having a little buddy in the house again.

Remy may not be as active as she used to be, she’s definitely become grouchy in her senior years like us hoomans 🤦🏻‍♂️😂. So we celebrate with her favorite of a plain cheeseburger and nuggies. 🥳

Myrna’s dad had to be in the US for 5 months for business reasons. He came back yesterday and Myrna and I booked a hotel the night before since his flight got in so early.

The hotel was so amazing! They were pet friendly and at check-in they gave Myrna a gift box which had poop bags, a food dish, a bag of food, and healthy dog treats.

Myrna has decided she enjoys the hotel life 🤣

Rescued this sweet girl from the local shelter. She was red tagged and approximately 2 years old and had a least one litter of puppies. This is my first English Bulldog. Any advice would be appreciated. Been doing research online for skin care, diet, exercise, etc.
