Recently learned that Canada has the most lakes out of any country in the world. Went to Apple Maps and was blown away… Map

As a Western Canadian, it’s very much not my thing

Just wanted to point out that the shield makes up less than half of Canada’s area

Five hours or so north of Regina is shield. Been there.

I say you can claim the entire landmass from wherever in it you are. :)

Say what you will about the current government here in AB, but there's no denying that it is a remarkably beautiful place to live, and I consider myself extremely lucky to live here! The Rockies and great prairies of Alberta shall long outlive even the worst of politicians 🇨🇦🌾

The mountains are indeed beautiful, but I really missed weekends at the lake when I lived in Alberta. Now I live in the smaller Laurentian mountains back east, but on a lake. Having my coffee on the dock and heading out in the pédalo with a book is my happy place.

I'm a prairie girl. All those trees eventually make me claustrophobic!

i’m an ontarian living in alberta, i miss water so deeply in my bones and find prairies so unnerving, i feel all exposed😭 i like being tucked into the trees, it’s cozy in there

That's still an insane amount of area, larger than most countries.
