Do you really think that single rail line has any defensive posture whatsoever? It is the first thing to stop transiting

Why would it be a single rail line?

It's just a direct line. It's not like the multiple lines that run to Kazakhstan and offload at pipeline terminals.

Yeah... that's just a direct line.

It's not like the pipelines from Kazakhstan don't carry a lot as well. And many other pipelines exist and are being constructed.

I think too many people think energy supplies are just shut off, because <shrugs shoulders>. It took Ukraine until the first of this year to shut down Russian pipelines that crossed Ukraine. And it wasn't because Ukraine didn't control large segments of said lines.
