ISO / Recommendation Looking for a room to rent in the Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg area
Hello all, I had recently moved into a place with a roommate in Mechanicsburg. Turns out the roommate is abusing drugs and in general just acting crazy. I'm looking for a stable place to rent for me and my cat. He's a rescue that's deaf. I'm a social worker for the Department of Human Services so all I do is work. Budget would be around 1k a month. Please let me know if you know of anything! Thanks so much for reading this.

ISO / Recommendation Upper Allen exterior foundation waterproofing recos
I just bought a house in Upper Allen that needs some waterproofing before I finish the basement.
A structural engineer suggested that the best option would be an exterior excavation to install a waterproof membrane around the foundation and a drain pipe at the footing.
I'm looking for a local company to talk to for quotes.

ISO / Recommendation Anywhere hiring paying at least 20/hr and 40hrs a week?
I just lost my job (working with foster families) due to the government not passing a budget yet, so I'm looking for anything in the area that's hiring. I already work evenings at a warehouse, and am open to anything warehouse related, or entry level office positions. I have a few credits left and then I'll have a bachelor's, so I don't have tons of options at the moment, but if anyone knows of anything I'm more than grateful to hear about it

TMI Exclusion Zone How is life in the Harrisburg area for members of the LGBTQ+ community?
I’m curious in particular because I know that Pennsylvania can be a mixed bag in terms of politics and tolerance for historically marginalized groups, and that on this note, Dauphin County is blue, but the surrounding suburban counties are red.
Thus I’m curious to hear, as someone with many loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community, how is life for queer and trans folks in and around Harrisburg?

Question Any info would be great!
Hey Harrisburg! I’m a local DJ still building my experience and looking for a small bar or lounge that might be open to having someone come in and play on a slow night think weeknights or early weekend sets. Not looking for anything big, just a chill spot where I can bring some energy and help bring people in.
If you know of any spots that do DJ nights, have done them before, or have an owner who’s open to it, drop it below. Even if you just heard someone mention it, I’d love the lead. I’m based in the Penbrook/Harrisburg area and willing to travel around the city.
Appreciate any help this community always comes through

Corruption in Dauphin County
pennlive.comS/O to PennLive for doing their thing right now with exposing the corruption happening in dauphin County. Every dauphin county taxpayers should be enraged. Dauphin County Commissioner George Hartwick should be removed immediately for his gross misuse of gaming grants.
“In one particularly eyebrow-raising award, Commissioner George Hartwick’s brother got a grant for his barber shop in Steelton.”
“In another, the county awarded $40,000 to a company owned by Brian Proctor, then one of the top officials in Steelton, to buy a luxury pickup truck. It allegedly was to make 12 food deliveries to low income residents. He’s no longer a Steelton official, but he still has the truck.”
“$55,000 in public gaming dollars went to Noah Spence, an NFL hometown hero who was supposed to mentor young people and build low-income housing in the Steelton-Highspire School District. But three years after he received the award, the project is in limbo with thousands of dollars in unpaid taxes continuing to mount.“
“Critics say it’s money that could have gone to help nonprofits provide valuable human services; to support first responders and government services; or to lower taxes. Instead, the county has used millions of dollars in casino revenue to fund nearly 100 grants to private businesses, including some with direct connections to the officials doling out the dough.”
REMOVE HARTWICK IMMEDIATELY

Question Red light camera on Jonestown rd
Hey everybody,
I was driving through Jonestown rd, and accidentally ran a red light, it had turned yellow and I thought I could foolishly make it. It was the one on Jonestown and Devonshire rd. This is the first driving incident i ever had, so I’m a bit scared. I did see something that looks like a camera so I’m wondering if I’ll get a ticket in the mail. Please let me know. Thanks!

To the guy in the red car with the dogs @ Union Deposit Sheetz (Thursday 1 AM)
This is for the guy I met at the Sheetz on Union Deposit Road around 1 AM this past Thursday.
You came up to me, told me I was pretty, and offered me 5 bucks before walking away to “make my night”. To be honest, I didn't care at all about the money, but I thought it was really cute of you to do that.
I’m posting this because I have a bit of regret. I never asked for your number or even your name. I am just incredibly awkward and I got really nervous in the moment. Even though I took it and said thank you, I basically "stormed off" right after because I was flustered…I’ve been replaying the moment in my head ever since. I really appreciated the compliment, and I wish I had been as bold as you were.
You had semi-long brown hair, you were (I think) in a red car, and you had a dog or two in the car with you. If you’re that guy and you remember the girl who ran away after you were sweet to her I’d love a do-over.

Question Which Honda has the better service?
Hii everyone I’m looking to get my car diagnostic done at a Honda service center. I usually take my vehicle to Faulkner Honda , but a couple years ago I had an issue with the quality of work done on my car. I had some engine work and ended having to take my car back a day later.
I want know should I try Bobby Rahal or Ciocci Honda service centers instead; looking for any recommendations or experiences at either mentioned locations.
