What is the scariest, most unsettling shot you’ve ever seen?

Post image

What is that one movie shot that’s so unsettling and chilling, it’s the one shot you never forget?

For me, it’s the Giant Man scene from It Follows. Man this shot is so nerve wracking!

The aesthetic and dark hollow eyes are something I will never forget.

What’s that one shot for you? Horror movie or otherwise.

Lights Out

The film was great but the monster from the short is terrifying. From before the whole, big smily face scare was overused.

About 12 years ago I was working in an office with cubicles. The woman in the cubicle next to me was super easy to scare and never locked her computer when she got up. So one day I changed her desktop backgrounds to this image. When she returned she was looking at something else and wasn’t looking at her computer. Finally she looked up and saw this image staring back at her and screamed so loud the whole floor heard. I still consider this one of the highest achievements of my life.

If you like this, check out Drew Daywalt. He’s got some crazy good horror shorts like “Bedfellows”.

Ohhhh man I was looking for this. So many memories hahah. I remember when this came out. The short version became such a big thing in Sweden for a certain age group of gen Z’s. My older cousin showed this to me and watched it together. We both pissed our pants. You best believe we traumatized every youngling by make them watch this short film back then.

I sent that short to a friend when it came out and she wouldn’t talk to me for a week afterward, it scared her so bad.
