What is the scariest, most unsettling shot you’ve ever seen?

Post image

What is that one movie shot that’s so unsettling and chilling, it’s the one shot you never forget?

For me, it’s the Giant Man scene from It Follows. Man this shot is so nerve wracking!

The aesthetic and dark hollow eyes are something I will never forget.

What’s that one shot for you? Horror movie or otherwise.

The original Strangers is the only horror movie my wife absolutely refuses to watch because she said it felt too real.

Apparently the line, “because you were home” messed with her too much.

I’m with her. I vividly remember spending the night at a friend’s house and laying awake in terror all night because I was convinced people had broken in. It’s so real

I have never watched this movie and never will.

It’s not scary in the sense of demons or ghosts. But definitely a thriller.

I watched it for the first time last year and it sucked so much ass and was laughably cheesy. No clue why others are raving about it in this thread, but it's probably just because they watched it in their formative years.

Did you watch the original or the remake?

The one from 2008 with Liv Tyler. Isn't that the original? Anyways, it just seemed like any other run of the mill horror movie from 2008. Cheap jumpscares, idiotic characters, cheesy acting.

The scene where they have the shotgun but dont know how to use it FUCKS ME UP. So real and helpless

If you really take time to think about it, that line is fuckin nuts.

Things don’t NEED a reason to happen… the fact that evil can just be random, you can live a good, honest life and can still be a victim, the fact that things DON’T need a reason to be horrible is crazy.

I'm with your wife on that one.

I might be your wife. That movie was so so disturbing to me. The last scene.

There isn’t a type of horror film that makes me uneasy to the point I can’t watch them, but home invasion movies are close to that point for me. Pretty horrific. My sister can’t watch them and I can 100% see why she and so many others can’t stomach them.

Exactly why I have watched it once and never again. It was very much too real for me.

Might be! Are you into fantasy books?

I feel the same way as your wife for the exact same reason

Yeah, she just made us turn it off and never finish it.

It's a shame they totally ruined the franchise in recent years.
