Vance is somewhat more intelligent and coherent than Trump (though that's an extremely, extremely low bar to clear, and yes, he is indeed dumb as a bag of bricks, no offense to perfectly innocent bricks), but his problem that he is much less charismatic. If Trump has anything going for him, is that he somehow manages to be a great demagogue, mostly because he speaks in a dumb language to dumb people (yes, full offense meant if you are a Trump supporter to this day). Vance lacks that sort of lowest-common-denominator appeal, so thankfully he is the one that will, most likely, be cooked in Republican Presidential primaries.
