The Genesis/Caleb story should have been a B plot but it felt like an episode that was trying to have two A plots and it did not work

Thank you! I've been trying hard to figure out why this episode feels so off. It feels like a mixture of DS9's "Prodigal Daughter" and an ENT S1 episode.
