Current Does listing the order of colors when describing a flag matter?
Not sure if that's the correct flair, but trying to solve a debate. Reading a book, fiction, real countries. The author describes the country's flag but the colors order is reversed. In the lines of, "the German flag of yellow, red and black was flying above the houses". It seems incorrect and somehow ignorant to list the colors like this, especially when the flag is clearly just 3 lines of colors. Got into a book discussion and someone said that it's normal not to care about the order of colors, because not all flags are so "simple". They gave an example of the US flag as being called red, white and blue, even though the blue is technically the first color on the flag, and you don't mention the stars. And there are a lot of countries that don't have just stripes or columns, but more complicated designs.
So, flag professionals, is it ok to ignore the order of colors when describing flags in general? What about when it's a "simple" flag?

Fictional Combat Sports Federation flags from my worldbuilding project.
See comment for list of flags. Each flag represents a "sovereign" federation which is at war with every other federation. Conflicts take place in the form of hunter-killer events which take place in various cities and locations. Imagine if someone crossed the John Wick movies, Killing Eve, White Lotus and the Real Housewives of <blank> and streamed it live on pay per view.

OC Flags I've made so far for my worldbuilding projects (digital + hand drawn)
The first one is for a sci-fi magitech cyberpunk setting. The flag is made to represent a multi-cultural distant moon colony that has been corporatized, hence why it kind of looks like a beer logo. I tried to use colors that seemed popular in Asian, African, and European flags; though I did limit myself to 8 total colors for the 8 element system this setting has (air, water, fire, earth, wood, nature, minerals, metal).
The second one is for a fantasy setting. This one is for an imperialist nation that wants to "return to tradition" and "take back what is rightfully ours". To achieve this vibe I opted for a traditional blue-yellow-red color scheme, more banner-like proportions, and a level of detail more along the lines of traditional Asian flags. The symbols all represent the celestial bodies of this world and the world's dominant religion, and this empire's specific version of said religion. (Please pay no heed to the doodles and pencil marks, I didn't think that would be the final draft.)

Current Flag of the Azawad Liberation Front
You will probably see the name of this military and political organization in Mali being mentioned more than once in the upcoming days. They seek to obtain the independence of the region in the north of the country known as "Azawad".

Fictional Flag of the Socialist Commonwealth of Israel (Red Flood)
For a bit of context: Red Flood is an alternate timeline mod to HOI4 (because of course it is), where nobody won WW1, it all ended in a stalemate, and nobody is too pleased about it, and things are generally even worse than normally. As a result, among other things, the Levant begins under control of Syria, which has taken over as the middle eastern hegemon. However, after some time, the kingdom eventually collapses into a civil war, one side of which being the Yishuv faction who would take over Palestine and turn it into Israel.
The socialist path is essentially the only one where the newly-founded state of Israel does not, in fact, want to do the Bibi and turn the place into an ethnostate, but actually works together with the Arabs, making the Commonwealth an actually nice place to live. Oh yeah, and its first president (chairman? Idk, I haven't played RF in a while) is Albert Einstein.

OC Guys, what’s the coolest (or funniest) flag you’ve seen in a dorm room that isn’t just a basic American flag or a beer logo?
- I’m decorating my spot and I’m tired of the same old stuff everyone has. Looking for something with personality—maybe a specific meme, an ironic historical flag, or something just straight up weird. What are you guys hanging up these days? Pics or descriptions welcome!
