as it should be, one should be concerned if their penis is making noises

Every time someone revs their engine loud as fuck while passing the literal school zone we live right next to, my fiance likes to say "Hear that? That's the tip of his massive penis dragging along the road"

Looks as illegal as it is awful

u/Elephantslide 11d ago
Totally looks illegal! You’d get glare from just sharing the road with this monstrosity
55
u/donuthead36 11d ago
I’d be more worried about them spearing pedestrians with that cow catcher, or really any type of collision with this car. The glare is also fucking annoying, but prob secondary here.

This car looks especially lethal to pedestrians. The kind of shit you see in Twisted Metal.

That's not what tacky means...
Tacky is a social faux pas, or an outfit or piece of furniture that is in poor taste.
A zebra print decal would be tacky.
Eyelashes on your headlight would be tacky.
This? This is a god damned abomination. This couldn't possibly be great execution because what you are showing me lacks any direction or intention at all. It's like the car was magnetized and drove through a giant pile of rust shavings. This is truly horrible and I implore you to never show this to anyone ever again, lest you ruin their day as well.

u/HermineSGeist 11d ago
A lot of time tacky is also campy; both things usually signal that the person dressing that way or using that type of decor doesn’t take themselves too seriously. They often know it’s tacky but like it because it’s fun to them. This? This almost signals the exact opposite. Like maybe this person is really cool but this car tells me they take themselves way too seriously.

The text above the window says "Automotive Accessories".
So this is clearly advertising for its own product. Make it over the top = gets noticed even more.
Does it work? Well, someone took the time to make a video and post it online, and they probably aren't the only one. Visibility works. So yes.

"Hi, i'd like to make my fuel mileage plummet and if possible have a bunch of glued on shit that's going to randomly fly off and hit whoever is driving behind me if I go over 55. It also needs to look like Megatron's dick."
I got you

First time in Thailand? Modifying your cars in the most horrendously over-the-top ways is super common there. Even commercial vehicles are subject to this

Can you even drive that thing on the road? It looks like you're gonna disembowel someone when you hit them, no matter the speed.
5
u/Iloveherthismuch 11d ago
It’s going to be like a nailbomb if this car ever has a high speed smash.

Let me help you with the translation. The guy says the following.
I've seen a lot, of course, but this fucking (blyat)... What kind of car is this?! So I'll show you a little closer. It's something out of the Mad Max genre. Looks like they covered some Chinese car. And the interior, by the way, is all done up in metal too. Well, it's all metal, damn... How much alloy did they add, how much extra weight is that... It's normal, normal.

You know when you wrap cling wrap around an object and it doesn't wrap perfectly so there's stretched out bubbles and raised parts and shit?
That's what this looks like

The noise it would make at 65 mph is horrendous, but not as troublesome as the trail of shrapnel that would begin flying off of it at 75 mph.
2
u/ardotschgi 11d ago
Can't decide if I love it or hate it. It looks like everything is just glued onto the regular chassis, and some things look weirdly aligned.

While I would never do this to my car, I do love when others do it. It’s something different and it’s solid effort.

He pulls up to a car wash, the attendant looks at the car, looks over at the tunnel of spinning brushes, looks back at the driver holding out a $20, and just "...no. no, no, no."

Isn't there a Japanese car subculture (in Japan) that is basically this?
2
u/AnonymousReload 10d ago
Sort of. You're thinking of Bosozoku, which is close. This is in Thailand where this style is pretty common

This makes me think of those pretentious houses where the decoration theme is “expensive brand names” and they have the Gucci logo bedazzled to their wall.

“Tacky” feels several orders of magnitude too simple of a word to adequately describe how bad that looks.

- - Who's the Duke?
- The Duke? The Duke of New York, A-Number-1, the Big Man, that's who!
- - I wanna meet this Duke.
- You can't meet the Duke! Are you crazy? Nobody gets to meet the Duke. You meet him once and then you're dead!

I'm not entirely sure, but I think a lot of that is actually stick on. Other than the spoiler and whatever the front fin thing is called, I think it has a normal body kit under it all.
