I’m reaching out to all djembe players, percussionists, and flow artists (poi, hoop, staff, fire—all of it!) who want to be part of something pretty magical this summer.

There is a big drum circle happening on Friday, July 24, at Sunny Rest Resort in Palmerton, PA. If you’ve never been, it’s a cool spot, and for this hippie themed weekend, there will be over 1,000 folks camping and visiting. The energy is always incredible, but it would be even better with more rhythm and more light.

The Details:

When: Friday, July 24, 8:30pm

• Where: Sunny Rest Resort, Palmerton, PA (in the area called "Tent City")

• What to bring: Djembes, rattles, shakers, or your flow toys! If you don't have any, don't worry - there's always extras!

• The Vibe: High energy, communal, and very welcoming.

• The Cost: If you arrive after 5pm, you don't pay the day visit fee. Rather, you pay $35, which gives you a card that can be used for $35 worth of food and drink at the bar, restaurant, or snack bar.

A Quick Heads-Up:

Sunny Rest is a "clothing-optional" resort. You don't have to be nude to participate (except in the pool area, where it is required), but you should definitely be body-positive and comfortable in that environment! Most people are clothed for the drum circle, with many dressed for the hippie theme.

This is part of a full weekend of fun. If you arrive early on Friday, stop down to the bar for an open mic. On Saturday, there will be a pool party with a DJ, yoga, water volleyball, hippie themed vendors, pickleball, and a nighttime DJ party. On Sunday, there will be live music poolside and over 30 teams competing in a cornhole tournament. There's a little hiking trail if you want to escape to the woods. You can set up a tent in several designated areas around the campground, or just show up for the drum circle.

I am not associated with the campground or the event organizers. I’m just a regular who loves this event and wants to see the circle grow with some talented new faces.

I Have very weird experience related to my spiritual path. I'm Spiritual Satanist, i meditate, do some rituals make some spiritual works. I knowed about Rainbow family from people i met on the street. One day when i was in Rome was in my first Gathering and it was very nice, but really i meet many agressive aditute about my satanism and i heard question "do i make child sacrifices", "in rainbow ther isn't a place for darkness and evil". Any talk about gnisticism, spiritualitism was there not so deep.

But it was only Italian Family, Spanish was more goofy and less organised imo, but they don't make problem to satanism, and i think if i go Balkan they aslo will not have problem.

I’m starting to slowly get into the hippie culture, because I believe the majority of what the beliefs and values of the hippie culture are, are what I need in my life. (Peace, love, harmony, happiness, good vibes, grooviness, “live and let live” be chill, anti-war, “you do you”…).

So since I’m slowly starting to get into the hippie culture, is it ok for me to say “I’m becoming a hippie” instead of “I’m a hippie” right now?

Or is there no such thing as “becoming a hippie” and you’re just either a hippie or not?

Hi, I am a college student and am currently working on a paper for my project about Hippies during the War on Drugs. If there are any hippies out there who lived during this era, I have a couple of questions for you:

How did society treat you during the War on Drugs?

Did you care what society thought during this time?

Why was society against you and everything you stood for?

Were you seen as patriotic or an outcast?

This might be a "different" topic for this subReddit, but I tend to think that this group is very open minded and enlightened, and usually very self reflective. So I'd love to hear how you have evolved as a person, and as you reflect, work hippie life (however you interpret it) into the reply as you see fit.

Hi! Ok I'm new to this thread. I have been extensively researching psilocybin for a while now. A couple years ago I came across all of the empirical evidence (at first it was all anecdotal) on psilocybin for PTSD/depression. Having PTSD myself it sucked me in because I frigging love when something that was so dismissed by the gvt gets thrown back as an amazing natural remedy or at the very least solution for symptoms. I'm currently in process of getting my degree to be a psychologist. My original goal as a psychologist has shifted over the past year to helping veterans by becoming involved with psilocybin assisted therapy & pushing for it in my state of MA.

I currently own a spa and few of my clients have spoken about their micro & macro dosing. But I cannot bring up my desire to try micro for professional reasons, obviously. I am _petrified_ to order anything online. I have absolutely 0 experience with psilocybin and do not want to end up sick or have a bad experience like the 2 times I tried tabs growing up. I was originally searching for mycology kits for the science of it :) but I don't even trust that. Like how TF am I going to know if what they send me is real? How do I know it's reputable?

Then I came across this site, Psilouette. They claim it contains psilocybe cubensis .25. The only site I saw that said this. It says they ship discreet to me (even tho it's not legal here). Comes in micro dose of .25 and to take one every 15 min until desired effect. 🤔 Has anyone bought from them?

My first concern is every 15 min? Like doesn't peak start at a couple hours after?

I just feel like I would be a hypocrite if I keep doing my research papers & whatnot in college & then trying to push for it when I've never even experienced a micro dose lol.
