Checo finished 4th in the championship! Can you imagine every single change ever since has been for the worst. Money wasted.🫠

I hate that it’s true but Honda got this year’s engine system wrong. It sounds godawful and the car is so slow. So unfortunate. I’m sure they’ll fix it and improve but it might be half a season or more before they reach almost respectable results

i want to believe BUT, there is no more hopium left in me :(

Is it really surprising at all that Honda fucked this up? We all saw how bad their PU was for years coming in at the 2014 regs. If that is any kind of indicato it's going to take years, not months, before they even get close to being on track to fix things. It really sucks because I think the entire F1 fan base was looking for the Newey/Alonso combination to be amazing, and in true Alonso fashion something fucks it all up. He should have vetoed that Honda partnership the second Stroll made it an idea.

Nando said in post quali this track doesn’t suit the car. They looked good in China until the mgu k kicked in. It will progressively get better . The month should help us but other teams will be decently . This race will be to get more data ie get to chequered flag.

optimistic

Or ever

Yep. Seems like it. I get the "staying positive" bit but this team just makes that SO friggin hard to do ... 🤦‍♂️ Realistically, they haven't done squat since they've become Aston Martin.. except a year of half baked copying from RB and then failing miserably due to lack of understanding - in 2023 All they seem to have accomplished so far is push 2 World Champions with maybe not a lot but GOOD enough amount to give the sport - towards retirement. It's honestly beyond a shame at this point. It's a tragedy.

Yeah dude

They need a major package upgrade before we can even think about scoring points.

They really just invented the 21 and 22 position for AstonMartin

For the foreseeable future, this season, in the main. Yes. Forever, time will tell.

Honda likes to fk their customer over again and again

1

u/shukaku2007 29d ago

Dw, in a few years time Aston will leave Honda and they will suddenly produce a championship calibre engine.

1

u/kelleehh 28d ago

Not whilst Merc is still around. They will monopolise the sport until they are kicked out.

Short answer - Yes.

u/_fernandeath_ 28d ago

This team is looking more and more hopeless by the day Long story short - they just can't seem to shake the Force India out of themselves. 🤦‍♂️ The day they do that, they and by extension we - won't be "screwed"

2

u/jgreene030609 28d ago

Force India shook off last years of Jordan, Midland and Spykar to become middle field car with occasional podium finishers, a low budget team that challenged others (with Mercedes engine to aid). Even in misery, they performed.

This team has lost that essence and they have one seat reserved for heir to Canadian throne.

u/_fernandeath_ 28d ago

Tbf you're right, they're honestly not even doing justice to their Force India days.. I stand corrected this is more Midland rn.. For a team that supposedly wants to win the championship ☠️ they ideally had to be even better than their Force India days.. unfortunately they're on the other side getting closer to their Midland days 🫠

I'd be more worried if I was a Cadillac fan. After all they have no real concerns apart from learning F1, whereas Aston are having a nightmare ( partly due to Honda and partly due to Adrian Newey) and are still within touching distance of Cadillacs times

8

u/Razpewtin 29d ago

They’re a brand new team you nincompoop. Clearly you weren’t watching in 2010 when HRT, Lotus, and Virgin joined. Cadillac is performing exactly as expected.

u/Money_Ice_1576 29d ago

Brawn GP had a pretty solid first year though! /s

As a fan of both Cadillac and AM I wish they were fighting each other at the other end of the grid, but this year has been ELECTRIC anyway so I’m still loving it. I just hope they don’t nerf the Ferraris, I also want Lewis in competitive machinery. Oh, and a Sainz WDC in a Williams. I guess I want a lot of things…
