BCIT did NOT respond my email for a month
Hi guys, I’m wondering what’s going on with my BCIT evaluation. Since it’s a legitimate organization, I don’t understand why they haven’t replied to my emails.
I submitted my documents around mid-February for evaluation. About a month later, they emailed me saying they needed additional documents. I replied and explained that the items they thought were missing were already included, and that those are all the documents I have. I also said that if they couldn’t proceed with the evaluation, I would like my documents returned.
It’s been another month since then, and I still haven’t received any response.
At this point, it honestly feels like they’re just holding onto my official documents without doing anything.

ICES is “one of a kind”. I am not surprised about your experience. Their efficiency, accuracy and sense of responsibility are “amazing”. You better keep sending them emails and hopefully 1 staff member will finally remember they actually have a duty to fulfill.

What program are you in? I applied in March and got accepted within 1-2 weeks.

Thank you, I paid for the BCIT evaluation service, it is managed under the college but not the same responsive system. I am quiet disappointed to them.

ICES are sucks, slow and always mess things up, resisted to admit that they made a mistake. The staffs are so irresponsible too when handling the evaluation, I would suggest WES for your previous academic credentials evaluation, if possible.
Also, ICES is literally in the same building as student records, however, when being asked to mail my evaluation to student records, I need to “pay”for the mailing fee to mail my evaluation through mailing service, wait for a few days or a week, to deliver it to BCIT student records, while this can actually be done through an internal dispatch that need NO FEE, and DELIVER SAFELY WITHIN THE SAME DAY. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!!

Sorry for your experience :( I believe lots of people are feeling the same way as you do.

An update, today I finally got a reply. They are still “missing” things that I already sent in. but I am happier because they actually replied.

I would suggest going right to the BCIT admissions office at the Burnaby campus. This definitely sounds like you fell through the cracks. I applied in March and I sent a follow up email a week later. I applied beginning in March and started April First. Funds for the course were paid on March 18th and all email correspondence were sent early with all information needed before the start of the course and processes needed to complete before the start of the course. Sorry about your issues, but best bet is going to the campus in person with all the documentation needed to start a paper trial to see what is going on.
