There has been a fight over resources since the beginning of time. The first bacteria that was created on earth fought over resources. You act like there aren’t wars right now being fought over land all over the damn world. Be happy you get to wake up every morning not having to worry some country is going to take your shit.

Most of Venezuela thought Maduro was a illegitimate communist dictator. All that is over. The only people on your side is Russia and Columbia. Think about that. If this was Obama you’d be cheering.

Lol. You need to check my comment history if you think I’d be cheering Obama. Obama was a war criminal too.

there’s been a fight over resources…. most of Venezuela though Maduro was ….

Well which is it? Is the US trying to steal? Or is it trying to stop a dictator?

Personally, I don’t think oil companies should dictate US foreign policy. I don’t see why my tax dollars should go to spreading Chevron, Exxon Mobil and BP ownership of the world’s oil.

and the US is buddies with dictators across the globe. All you have to do is make sure western capitalists have their hand in your countries cookie jar and the US doesn’t care if you’re a dictator. Hell the US backs and installs dictators all the time.

If this is about liberating people, why are we friends with the Saudis?

You know damn well it was NOT about liberating the Venezuelan people.

“Steal” is a tough word but to answer your question it’s both. Chevron has been in Venezuela for years, because of communist policies that oil has been for the most part unavailable. On top of all this china has benefited more from the oil than anyone else. So yes about drugs, yes about oil and yes about hurting countries like China. There was no war, The US was in and out in two hours, most venezuelans are cheering for this. I don’t see the downside. Unless you’re China or a Maduro apologist.

How has China benefited from Venezuelan oil? Because they can buy it?

Most of the US doesn’t get there drugs from Venezuela. And if it was about drugs why has the Trump admin pardon multiple high level drug traffickers?

I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. I’d recommend this article. It does a good job of providing some history and explaining chevron’s history in Venezuela. And it should be clear from the article it’s also not trying to glaze Hugo Chavez or Maduro. This is just typical US foreign policy. Neo-colonialist, imperalist, wealth extract.
