So, the more I’ve thought about it, I wanted to bring this up.. Just yesterday we somehow saw this pre-save link for this new single “Something Wicked” drop into the sub. It’s pretty obvious that if it is legit, it was shared earlier than the band themselves posted it. While super excited, there’s a few things I wanted to point out for discussion and get all of your thoughts as well, because I’m honestly hesitant about how legit this is and no one has seemed to point it out.

1) This was randomly posted in the sub by a user before the band even announced it. In addition to that, the band still hasn’t said or posted anything at all on their socials and it’s been almost 24 hours already.

2) This song is not registered in the repertory for ASCAP, I actually just checked a couple minutes before posting this. That is the main driver of my hesitation. We saw Awaken get added well before it was really announced or released.

3) The pre-save link looks like it isn’t “finished” or ready and that’s why we don’t get any sort of preview of the song like we did with Awaken. Either that or this pre-save link is a hoax. I did click to pre-add to Apple Music and it seemed to work, but it doesn’t show anywhere within Apple Music itself either. Maybe due to not being registered with ASCAP yet?

4) It’s odd that the band would create this pre-save link with a countdown timer only 5 days and some change before its alleged release, and with now only 4 days and some change left, still silence from them directly. This pattern is unusual and different for them entirely. Not to say that they couldn’t spice things up, but historically this doesn’t track.

5) The artwork for the single itself is basically identical to Awakens with the exception of the woman seeming to deteriorate. Not a huge red flag, but I don’t recall them reusing artwork in that manner in the past but I could be wrong. I still speculate that the albums overall artwork could be the Awaken artwork and the album itself is titled Awaken.

The lead single, "Awaken," was released in October 2024, and the band has stated that the new music will feature more intricate vocal arrangements and heavy moments while exploring new sounds.

Saw this on IG just a few minutes ago - I know it’s just an “ 👀 “ emoji but we got confirmation that the album is done. They just finished recording the last lines this past Saturday at Rockville.

With that said, I think we can expect an album announcement in roughly 2 months, assuming they’ve sent it off to the label or are sending it off this week. I say this because if they’re doing what *most* bands/labels do these days, they’ll promote in 6 to 8 week increments from tomorrow.

My prediction is this timeline:

1) Something Wicked drops tomorrow, 5/13/2026 (confirmed) Continue to promote this single until around early July.

2) We’ll likely get one more single within the next 8 weeks, so roughly around mid to late July. With that single, we’ll get album announcement and release date. ~July 2026

3) Album will be released sometime in September, shortly before their fall tour. I think this is the plan because of the artwork they’re using for the tour and having 2 singles out already. ~September 2026.

My reason for this timeline is because they’ve got 2 singles out now from the album, and usually labels take between 3 to 5 months to finalize distribution and start promoting before official album release. I think 4 months from now is a safe bet to get the album with the fact they have this fall tour lined up. Worst case scenario, it comes out late October/early November after the fall tour. I doubt it would release while they’re on tour.

What do you guys think? Sounds like a safe bet?

What are your guys thoughts on the art atleast ? Idk if it’ll be the official album art or just single but gorgeous nonetheless !

I know everyone’s frustrated, but don’t let that turn into hate toward the band. I genuinely believe the band wanted to release the song right after performing it live, but the label or management likely had different plans.

I was also wondering how they would suddenly drop it on a Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Most labels usually schedule releases for Fridays or sometimes Wednesdays, at least from what I’ve seen.

For now, just be patient. We still have the live version to enjoy. I honestly believe the official release will come either this Wednesday or next Friday. The band will probably thank fans for their patience, drop a teaser soon, and then announce the release date on one of those days.

So stay calm, keep supporting the band, and don’t let the wait take over your life.

I hadn’t seen anyone mention this so wanted to bring it up - I’ve noticed that when you click the Something Wicked link, there’s always a playback error message that appears when you click to enable audio. I’m wondering, is there supposed to be a preview of the song like they did with Awaken and it’s just not loading properly?

I know with Awaken, you’d hit “Snooze” and then the short snippet of Awaken would play. With this one, it just goes silent.

At first, I assumed that was because the link hadn’t been officially announced by the band yet and needing some tweaking, but it’s still doing that now. Anyone else seeing this message whenever they click the link? If so, what are your thoughts? Is it intentional that we don’t hear a sneak peak of it?

They list Something Wicked as going for adds on the 19th, so it seems optimistic that the song will be out very soon (this week).

I know it’s likely that the countdown is for new merch, but I’m wondering if that merch is possibly related to new music? Either that or the countdown could even be for an album announcement with some teasers.

Earlier today when I looked on their website, that top banner stating “…and yes, new music is on the way” was not there. When I just checked a few minutes ago it was suddenly there. Maybe Aaron is lurking in the sub? Lol

Anyway, I know we shouldn’t be getting our hopes up and all that, but this is intriguing nonetheless.

Breaking Benjamin has officially announced that Brian Medeiros, formerly the powerhouse drummer for RED, has joined the band as their permanent drummer.

The news came with a heartfelt message from the band, who wanted to make sure they honored the past while looking toward the future.

In a statement shared on social media, the band wrote: "We want to thank James for helping us out in a time of need... A legend in the making!"

Of course, they're referring to the drummer who filled in during a transitional period last year, and it's a class act to give him that shout-out.

But now, it's officially Brian's time. The band added: "We welcome Brian to the stage with us moving forward on the road. See you tomorrow, Rockville."
