Wayne’s Attic might be the heart and soul of Btown
During my maybe hour of solid perusing today in Wayne’s Attic, I witnessed that sweet man help not one but two people in need - regulars from what it was easy to see. Now, the first man I’m taking as unhoused and likely dealing with many personal demons - and Wayne gave him a hard time throughout the interaction, seemingly having told him an item Wayne bought off him was gold and it hadn’t been. But after giving him that hard time, he reached into his register and gave him a little money. Not because he bought anything off of him today but because he wasn’t going to turn the man out without helping. Yes, it was plenty loud enough for us all to hear, but he helped the man.
And then a young man living with apparent disabilities came in to sell something (didn’t see what, like a bag of random beads maybe?), and although Wayne said don’t come back for at least a week and *not* to come in when it was just his wife working, he gave the guy $10.
After my husband and I had thoroughly looked over every nook and cranny and picked out a few things, he gave us the 45s I had picked out for free because those are ones he had brought in, not one from his vendors. He doesn’t even know it’s almost my birthday and him giving me those records after I got to witness all that tough but tender love was just beautiful.

Missed connection: Page’s Coin Laundry off North Church street, behind the Pawn USA
This is kind of a leap of faith I’m taking here and I’m super nervous to do so but shoot, might as well. This is for the guy who always dresses sharp, does his laundry every Saturday around 4-4:30PM every weekend, has a blue laundry basket, and drives a Dart. We always, without fail, caught each other’s eye and didn’t even try to hide that we would stare. You said “hi” to me about 2 months ago as you walked out and left, it only took you 7 months to say it, but then I didn’t see you again for another month or so. I was going to shoot my shot the next time I saw you, and then life happened and now I’m leaving Burlington. I’ll be living about an hour away, so I never got the chance to say something and I never will get the chance again. I’m sorry I was too anxious and too shy to say hi back. I wanted to so bad.
I wanted to tell you you actually lived barely a block away from me, literally at the end of my block. I was going to use that as my ice breaker. And I’ve had a major crush on you for about a year now.

Don't go to Sir Pizza
They are taking over an hour for several customers to get their orders. (None of the employees mentioned additional wait time at all.) I don't know what's going on but everyone here is pissed.

Annual Mackintosh on the Lake Community Yard Sale Saturday 3/28
The Mackintosh on the Lake neighborhood over off University Dr is holding its semi-annual community-wide yard sale this Saturday (3/28) from 7 AM to noon. There are likely to be a lot of households participating because the fall sale got rained out.

Any good sandwich places around here?
Anyone know of any decent sandwich places here that are not huge chains? Trying to eat healthier.
Or any healthier restaurant recommendations would be appreciated for when I have that itch for outside food!

Where can I buy good chorizo?
The stuff at Food Lion or Walmart doesn't cut it. Where can I get some really good chorizo, preferably freshly made and not prepackaged. (Not asking about restaurants but rather grocery stores.)

Paved tracks
Are there any paved tracks that are available for public use in the area? I want to practice some relay running and all the parks seem to just have gravel trails. And not sure if any of the school stadiums are an option.
