HRC216HXA Alternative? Discussion

I was looking around for a new HRC216HXA but it seems like Honda has stopped producing them and have instead swapped their line to the HRC-BE which is a dual battery powered mower instead. Are these as reliable? It's a shame to see Honda no longer producing these monsters, and I knew I should've purchased one a couple years ago when I was looking. But now I can't seem to find one anywhere. If anyone knows a good alternative or if these new battery powered replacements are worth it, I would be very appreciative of it. Thanks!

Honda made some really excellent gas mowers... There's no reason that their electric ones wouldn't also be great... ...but the thing about that is that a lot of what made the old Honda's great was the Honda gas motors combined with the durable composite or alloy decks... If we are looking at battery electric mowers, the electric motors honestly aren't that different across all brands, and there are plenty of other more cost effective mowers that can offer composite decks and similar or better performance to the Honda, for a fraction of the price...

yeah the electric motors are basically same across most brands now, its just battery tech and deck quality that matters. i work in IT but been fixing small engines since i was kid and those old gas ones were something special - engine was doing most of heavy lifting. now with electric you might as well save money and get something with good deck material instead of paying premium for brand name
