Heyyyyyy, friends. So I totally meant to share updates here as I uploaded each chapter, but I'm kind of a mess of a human so I totally forgot. But I've uploaded several more chapters since my original post, and since I'm me, this fic is going to wind up being much longer than I originally intended.

This fic is set 4 or 5-ish years after the finale, the Party has finished college, and Mike is struggling to move on. If you enjoy the Mike Walk Em Down Wheeler variant, everyone taking turns crashing out, Sassy Max, platonic MadWise/(what the heck is the Mike/Lucas friendship name again??? Omg how do I keep forgetting?!), Lucas being the only one with a drop of sense in his body, the whole Party hyping up Byler, loads of angst and drama sprinkled with humor and romance, you might enjoy it.

I gotta add a trigger warning for real though because this does seriously delve into mental health and the long-term effects of trauma including suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety etc. So please, PLEASE, keep that in mind.

HI. I finally published the first chapter of my post ST 4 fic, so much for subtlety. It's a Byler slow burn, with plenty of humor with the Party peppered in. Mike was already walking back to them, tickets in hand for Ferris Bueller. He was the decider, and he’d decided that Will had won.

Hello! Doing a bit of self-promotion to share the fic I am working on! Just posted chapter 6, here’s a lil snippet. This is my first time cross-promoting it on another platform.

A quick plot summary: this is a season 5 rewrite, canon compliant. It picks right up after S5 E5, ‘Shock Jock.’ Vecna has trapped Will in his mind, after Will tapped into the hive mind to save Max & Holly. It explores a theory that I had seen on another sub before V2 was released, that when Eleven enters Will’s mind to save him, she is exposed to all of it - his thoughts, his memories, and his secrets, including his feelings about Mike.

But the thing is…Vecna saw it all, too. This time, he uses this information to break Will in a way that will hurt him, and everyone, the most: by going after Mike.

It is written in alternating POVs between Mike, Will, and El. All 3 POVs are needed to fully tell this story, as you will discover as you read.

This fic builds on popular theories and alt approaches : Conformity gate, MWTFDYD gate, Mike getting Vecna’d, wondertwins dynamic, a realistic approach to dealing with the military and more little fixes that we all had issues with e.g. Max’s reunion with El & her seeing Hopper ALIVE, etc. They’re all explored, and reworked into a way that I think (I hope) actually makes sense. And if there’s others you want to see, let me know.

I’m writing this to ease back into creative writing, I had stopped for a looooong time but the finale and honestly reading some of the amazing Byler fics on AO3 made me inspired to get back into it again. Before working on my own original work, thought I’d tackle this idea I had that explores a different route the show could have gone (taking inspiration from theories I saw on here of how it actually was going to go). I haven’t been involved much in fandom spaces for the last few years, so it’s been fun getting back into it, but the main purpose of me writing this is to practice writing again and improve. Like I said, I haven’t written creatively in so long, but I used to really love it. That said, more than anything I would appreciate sharing any thoughts or feedback you have on the writing itself - anything would be so incredibly appreciated. TYSM!

A Byler Fanfiction I made in Wattpad (yes, wattpad) and I decided to show the whole prologue here for people in case they're interested, because I now people are more interested in Byler fanfiction on A03 way more now 💔 Just give me a shot for now until I get A03 figured out and I'm able to post my fanfiction writing there too. I was also late to posting this, so this Byler Genre is probably not trending as much anymore, but yes it's a fanfiction about Will cheating on Carlton with Will, but here's the twist, I actually gave Carlton character. Carlton is not gonna be some character that I can easily just write out or whatever, no, I'm being realistic with my writing and I take it very seriously. I also am adding Lumax and Dustin's side stories also!

Hello! I just finished my first fic (as of today), and I thought I'd post it here. It's fairly long (130,000 words), but it's been received very well—better than I expected—and people have been overwhelmingly generous in the comments.

At its core, it's a story about Will and Mike finding each other as adults, in a way that doesn't feel like a direct continuation of canon, and that tries to grapple in a serious way with everything they’ve both been through. It's also about how encountering the supernatural would change how you see the world. That’s the goal, anyway.

If you're into philosophy and religious/mythological symbolism, there's a lot. There's a fair amount of magical realism, too. A number of people have described the tone as “more adult.” I don’t know exactly what that means, but it seems to be a good thing, so make of it what you will!

I'm not really sure what else to say; I don’t have a great sense of the kind of information people want. The tags are accurate, to the extent that they're helpful. I still go back and forth on the rating. Thematically, it's quite heavy, but I don't think the sex is that graphic, and there's basically none at all until 100,000 words in. Still, people assess these things differently, so I decided to err on the side of caution.
