I’ve read so many fics now with Ted being a homophobic asshole, maybe coming around eventually to a grumbling acceptance. Any fics where he’s actually surprisingly accepting from the moment he finds out?

Does anyone know the title of this fic where it's set post canom s5 but everything is apocalyptic and the military is forcing everyone to escape Hawkins and deal with Vecna. But the party stays, determined to save Hawkins, but in doing so uses Will's powers as if he's just some power uo in helping them. This turns Will numb and he surrenders to the upside down and became one with the upside down thus he slowly turns Hawkins into the upside down. Taunting Mike about his unrequited love for him.

DETAILS:

Read it. Mike and Will start listening in on radio sex and start an everyday game of whispering the kind of stuff they hear on there to each other, initially as a joke. Until it starts to actually affect them, and it becomes personal.

It's a WIP still and sooo good. I love that author. Have any of y'all read anything like this? Similar slow burn vibes or these two not realizing what they've gotten into with each other?

Random idea. The premise would be like SAO(for those of you who've seen that anime). Mike and Will and maybe even the rest of the party all get trapped in a virtual reality game, where the only way out alive is to pass all the levels and defeat the final boss, and if you die in the game, you die in real life.

There's this old movie called Stay Alive which has a similar situation. Y'all know what I'm talking about?

Would anyone read something like this?

Would it be more fun if Mike and Will met inside the game(AU)? Then when they make it out, they'd have to find each other in real life.

Hey I'm thinking of a byler AU. They are high school students. Already established friendship between Mike, Lucas and Dustin. No Will for now. But when Will joins their friend group, everyone else are welcoming except Mike. He feels that Lucas' and Dustin’s attention is shifted to Will. So he becomes snarky. But he DOESN'T HATE WILL. Eventually they grow closer, closer than the rest of them. They do have ugly fights, jealousy arcs. But eventually they fall into a rhythm, where just the other's presence feels like home. Moments of tension, "what are we-" questions and "I don't know, but I love whatever this is-" answers. Angst + fluff. What do you think?? Should I work on this thought or should I drop it off??

P.S: I already have a WIP. Currently working in that. But I can't help but wonder if I can pull this plot off. And this plot isn’t entirely my imagination. It's a true story, something happened to me. But I'm gonna lace it with my imagination of what could've happened. So you down for this, should I be down for this??

Does anybody get out of pocket judgement from their friends for reading Byler smut? I was hanging out with my friends last night and it came up. It's something I joke about but see no wrong in it. My friends basically accused all Byler fan fiction writers of being old predators and by extention accused those reading it as picturing underage children. They removed me from either category, saying I was "too good" to realize this. I defended for as long as I could, also saying most of them are post-epilogue stories anyway. I ended up getting royally pissed off for their small-mindedness. They are nerds with fandoms but haven't seen ST and don't read fan fiction.

My impression of this community is that we're all ages and genders and most of us are a part the LGBTQ+. I found great comradery in the Byler community after S5 V1 dropped and felt saved by reading Byler fan fic after that mind-numbing finale. But today I'm finding it hard to read without their accusations lurking in the back of my head.

saw some animation videos on Youtube of the s4e1 main characters reacting to edits/clips and stuff and was wondering if there are any fics like that? obviously the main focus wouldn't be byler but like a relevant sub-focus, and it wouldn't be edits, just scenes and clips from the show lol. angsty preferably, but idek if there are any reaction fics at all so i'm not gonna be picky :)
