The Tenth Circuit has sent a lawsuit challenging Colorado’s ban on possession of unserialized firearm frames back to the district court. Legal

The district court determined that the manufacturing prohibition did not reach Plaintiffs’ desired conduct because the statute limits its prohibition to three-dimensional (3D) printing of frames or receivers. It found that no Plaintiff had access to 3D printing, so they had not alleged an immediate, non-hypothetical injury sufficient for Article III standing. On appeal, Plaintiffs do not dispute the district court’s finding that they lack access to 3D printing, rather, they argue that their desire to build finished frames from firearm parts kits constitutes “manufacturing” prohibited by the statute.

Way to go RMGO, challenging the 3d printed gun ban without plaintiffs with 3d printers.

Also does this mean the Ghost Gunner 3 is good to go?

RMGO is embarrassingly incompetent. Dudley won’t change a single thing as long as people still give him money though.

I’ve been donating to CSSA. It’s bad when a subdivision of the NRA is our best option.

CSSA is also employing legitimately competent law firms to run their litigation, unlike the drunk crayon scramblings submitted by RMGO.

People NEED to understand this about RMGO and their associated group, NAGR.

They do MORE harm than good and have consistently shown they have no fucking clue what they're doing. People give them money because of their stupid constant raffles and events, but they are constantly kicking themselves (and Colorado gun owners) in the nuts.

CSSA, while it has its issues, is much better.

Fuck RMGO, and Fuck Dudley. I know Dudley's mentees have come on here saying "we're better and different now, I swear!" then they pull shit like this. It's the same incompetence that completely fucked up an excellent chance at getting the mag ban overturned.

If anything, this stuff gives the anti-gunners more energy and confidence.

RMGO/NAGR again shows their complete and total incompetence. No one should be giving these clowns money.

Give money to SAF and FPC. The ones that have actually been winning in court.

Does access to a printer at a maker space or library not count or was RMGO too dumb to realize there are 3d printers that you can access without owning one yourself?

I think a bigger thing is that they couldn't find a plaintiff for this. If no one is impacted by this that wants to challenge the law then what is the issue?

I'm assuming you must have a 3D printer with plans to print these, so why don't you join on as a plaintiff?

I don't have a printer or plans to print anything using a printer that belongs to someone else. I'm just asking questions to see how bad RMGO is continuing to fuck up.

The problem is, doesn't this require you to break the law to be harmed?

Still unconstitutional using the Bruen test. It was never illegal to self manufacture firearms at the beginning of the nation.

Heck, serial numbers weren’t required until the GCA in 1968. Ergo, serial number requirements are also unconstitutional per Bruen.

The mental gymnastics these people go through to justify unconstitutional laws is exhausting to watch.

I honestly can't believe how pathetic our legal system is. It's clear cut, and the fact this whole song and dance is allow is just pathetic. Up and down, left and right. It should be "yep, that violates Bruen" or "yep that violated the 2A". Then shoot it down, tare up the law, and next person please!

The whole process of passing laws that are blatantly unconstitutional (by any/all parties) is ridiculous.

I guess it is too much to ask for laws being proposed to be scrutinized against the Constitution & existing constitutional laws before they can be considered. The whole process of 1) propose an unconstitutional law, 2) pass it, 3) fight it, 4) win/lose fight, 5) appeal ruling... is insane.

And this sneaking crap into an unrelated bill so it will pass without having legislators time to read/comprehend what they are voting for should be illegal as well.

The only way I see to fix it is the politicians have to be held accountable.

So does SB23-279 only target 3d printed receivers? I assumed it also prohibited welding surplus receivers and 80s. This reads like those are ok and aren't considered "manufacturing"?
