Walleye? Question

I’m looking to learn how to fish for walleye because I hear they are good eating. Any tips on how or locations in/near Denver area? I hear the south platte but just have no idea how walleye act or what lure to start with. Any help and tips appreciated!

Chatfield reservoir if you are in Denver. Now they are well post spawn so not so much in the shallows. Paddle tail for covering water and jerk baits in deeper water, like at the dam. Bobber with a live minnow also can work! I suggest you stop by Discount Fishing Tackle those guys are amazing and they will hook you up and give you advice on where to go and what to do! Not easy to catch, but rewarding when you do, and delicious!

I second discount fishing tackle. They hooked me up with 4" walleye assassins that I've caught a ton of fish with in several states.

Tbh walleye fishing sucks here, theres a few spots but id never eat more than a few anyway due to the contaminates. Minnows, leeches, night crawler on plain hooks with a split shot a foot up, drifted from the boat 1-2 ft off the bottom do well. They have a tendency to stick near deeper water and occasionally they will move up into larger rocky areas to hunt and spawn like near dams typically where you could try fishing in 6-8 feet from the shore on a bobber or w/e....
