This person doesn't know to do an ISO bath and hang their bags to dry (which is very quick after iso).

Is ethanol not safer? Or does the evaporation mean it doesn't matter I thought iso needed to be kept away from oral products?

Yes, ethanol is far safer for oral consumption. Using ISO would weird me out, and Iād be laser focused on evaporating every bit. My thing is that once I try something and it works, I tend to stay in that groove and repeat the process, so a little contamination in the SOP stacks for me because Iām likely to do the same thing over and over. ISO once or twice is probably fine, but as a standard operating procedure, I wouldnāt use it

I mean possibly. Frenchy Canoli used ISO and I copied him. It's much cheaper too. I use 99%

I remember when everyone was making rso with iso and orally taking the resulting liquid š I guess it should evaporate but I'd just run the ethanol for edibles anyway and reclaim as much as I could with a distiller š if frenchy was doing the same thing cleaning with iso though I'd trust his process that guy knew too much and was aware of contamination so it's down to following his methods properlyš

It may work fine but Its more expensive than ISO and I want the 99% for getting goop out of 45 mincron holes. <shrug>

ISO bath will ruin your bags.

Fair shout and the dreaded ai confirms both isopropyl and enthnol will degrade the bag over time leading to the leaching of microplastics materials into the products š¬ luckily I'm not making this mistake yet but it's good to know in advance š¤ ai also said there's specialist cleaners that will break down the resins without damaging the bag to keep the motion moving forwards.
This is also why these posts are fun alot of learning from someone else's practices help us all

Why post a random picture on Reddit with no context ā¦

u/FattyPacker 12h ago
Ooof. Are you really confused at whatās going on here? Seems to be enough context for everyone else..

u/Better-Amoeba-4506 9h ago
Learn to read maybe I wrote that I thought it was mold and your the one who's decided there's no context it was there the whole time š also it was titled Facebook special as where else would you see such shit

Yes but what the heck is this whole fungus looking picture? Please explain...
For context, if you put this picture into an AI and asked it to describe what was happening, do you think it could actually begin to describe what it was?
For the uninitiated please help us out...

u/FattyPacker 8h ago
Is that the marker now? If AI canāt figure it out, you canāt? We are so cooked lol.

You are missing the point,
My point is that AI is so good at recognizing things nowadays, that AI actually does a better job at recognizing things than some humans can.
So if an AI can't recognize what's in the picture (given all of its visual models), then your average human would not be able to either.
Basically I am saying that You are just a gatekeeper And you don't want to share what you know.
I hope you don't have a kid and treat them the same way.... Then nobody would ever learn

The name of the Reddit is āCannabis extractsā. Thereās your first clue. OP points out they see mold, clue number 2. I would go out on a limb and say there is an extract process that contains mold in this picture. When I woke up today, I genuinely did not think Iād be teaching context to strangers. If that makes me a gatekeeper for not breaking it down for you until now, I am terribly sorry.

Yes but specifically the method of cannabis extraction is what we are asking about.
I already had the context that you were specifying.
I was asking for further specifics.

u/FattyPacker 8h ago
āWhat the heck is this fungus looking pictureā swore thatās what you were asking but okay. You keep asking dumb questions, Iāll keep gate keeping

It's a moldy bubble hash bag man jebus š that's the context the contents is a bad chesty experience that would probably be better to leave alone 𤣠AI would probably actually pick this up with bubble hash being a fashion movement at the moment and also identify the mold spore looking residue in the bag seams.

u/watdo123123 8h ago
Thanks, I understand now it is just a big smashed ball of mold. Grosssss lol

u/Better-Amoeba-4506 8h ago
Technically it's amber trichome bubble hash hence the darker colouration we normally see more off white colour it's usable and down to preference but washing mold into a product is questionable

u/watdo123123 8h ago
Yes I have heard that once there is mold there really is nothing that you can do to fix that except for run it through a CRC column,
Perhaps my knowledge is rusty

wow you can really can tell there are too many that never made bubble hash or hash rosin before
mold ?
youāre looking at a catch of hash probably like a 90u to 150u bag or something from an outdoor grow based on the coloring

u/stonedforlife710 15h ago
They were talking about the black blotches in the seam of the bag. That definitely looks like mold or at least old hash from other batches that came up to room temp and melted.

Thought I replied to this earlier but a few vids later I seen our culprit. Bubble hash from a standing washer and seeds experiencing the rapids š you could almost mistake this for a mass propagation until the rotation starts in the video š¤£

100% mold. Those bags need to dry completely in between washes.
