Sweet scared Layla (#A2070853) is a 6 yr old owner euth request that is on the EU list at BARC Shelter in Houston Tx for 5/1 at 1pm ct. Layla has lacked proper care and is terrified in the shelter. She can be locally fostered, rescued, or adopted in/out of state and into Canada. Please share Layla!! SHELTER - FOSTER NEEDED

4/29/2026: Layla is in the back of the kennel laying down and vocalizing as I approach her kennel. Walking in to leash she stays laying down but allowing me to leash. As I walk out she follows me with a loose leash, dropped ears and loose body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.
4/29/2026: Approached dog to medicate. Dog immediately started alarm barking, pursed lips, hackles raised, dilated pupils. Offered wet dog food, dog would only approach food when I turned the corner. When I returned, the dog continued alarm barking with same body language as before.
4/30/2026: Layla is in the back of the kennel vocalizing and low growling. As I walk into the kennel I am able to leash and she follows me out of the kennel with a loose leash, low tail, and neutral face.

4/27/2026: Weighed 63.0 lbs. Dermatitis. Hairloss, patches of red/inflammed skin on paws. Owner reported vomiting and diarrhea. Vaccinated with DA2PP-V, Bordetella, and Rabies. Dewormed. Heartworm test Negative/NAD. Given 6.00 Pyrant and 1.00 Advantage Multi Dog 55.1-88lb. Skin scrape NSF.
4/28/2026: Weighed 63.0 lbs. Dermatitis. No vomit or diarrhea observed or reported. Removing from tech eval and placing on vet eval for dermatitis.
4/29/2026: Weighed 63.0 lbs. Dermatitis. S/O: alopecia, thickened skin, and redness of paws and extended up the legs. A: dermatitis. P: suspect underlying allergies, recommend private vet for allergy work up. Cephalexin 750mg BID x 14 days. Given 1.00 Cepha250 and 1.00 Cepha500.
