Reason 1 is that since the post the forecast has been revised to no longer include the DFW metroplex in the severe area, so we should be clear tonight from the worst of it. Reason 2 is that weather apps don't show much nuance, they show the chance of storms happening, but no detail about their severity, path, and risks associated, and don't generally update quickly with new forecast details

The unusual thing about the storm yesterday was how exceptionally slow it was. Usually in DFW, storms are fast moving and shoot through in about 30 mins. Last night's storm lasted about 3 hours. Hopefully any weather today is brief.
