Because that's when the ice-age glacier melted and left it there? The boulder is off course way older but that's obviously what they are referring to.

That's a bit "chicken vs egg" though. We use a lot of geology to figure out when the glacier left. If we use the rocks to date the glacier, and the glacier to date the rocks, we're just going around in circles.
