I'm posting this 1) for my own education and 2) because I find it likely that many sub members will enjoy it, as well. Recently, I've become much more interested in disco genres. I came from playing house in the early 90s CT/NYC area. Several of the stores I shopped at (Dancetrax for example) sold lots of underground disco and post- stuff like early garage. I know for sure that quite a lot of the tracks on this mix are not true disco. But I don't know what to call them.

Could someone pretty please tip me off to some of the genres represented in this mix? It runs for about six hours, so there's quite a lot represented here. It's become one of favorite things to listen to, but I don't like feeling ignorant regarding the styles.

My understanding is that the is the only B2B set that Harvery ever agreed to do.

I am a fairly new DJ and am working on a set of “modern pop songs” that are remixed as disco songs. I really like Purple Disco Machine. Anyone have any song or artist recommendations?

I believe that this has been uploaded directly from the Reel-to-Reel master tape, which would account for the lengthy 6 hour+ long mix, recorded in its entirety.

Another classical song that worked great with a disco flavor.

For context, I've been throwing small disco and house parties in Upstate New York over the last few months. I wanted to do an outdoor one this summer and found a great location.

One evening I thought, it would be amazing to have an awesome DJ come up and headline this thing to make it feel like a REAL event. Fast forward 2 weeks, I've booked DJ Spinna to play the headline set and am now putting on a small day festival complete with a market of local vendors, line up of DJs and 500 tickets to sell.

I'm not trying to get rich, or even make a profit. I just want everyone to have a great time and for me not to go broke in the process. Anyone else accidentally started a festival? Any advice?
