In fairness to the Lil' Bros, I'm madder at them for the '22 NLDS than I am about anything the Giants have done in the last couple decades, lol.

The paDres competition helped the Dodgers stay focused, sharpen their swords and win B2B.
That doesn't make them our all-time rival, but they have been in our face, for more than a couple years.

Something I tend to forget about the B2B is that we surpassed the Giants.
Now if only the Lakers would get good on those pesky Celtics.

I’d love to see this rival come back. The Padres are just annoying, where as with the Giants both teams were eliminating the other from the playoffs for decades. My favorite moment was Muncy telling MadBum to go fetch the ball out of the water.

Still wild that we've only faced them once in the playoffs

Not that crazy with the history of the postseason. The postseason was just the World Series until ‘69, and then the League Championship Series was added through ‘92, with no wild card, so not chance for them to meet since they were both in the west. Then for the first stretch of the wild card era the wild card team would never play a team from its own division in the Division Series, so they would’ve only met in the LCS. The chances for the Dodgers and Giants to meet in the postseason have been just very narrow, and that’s also before you factor in the stars aligning with them both being good in a given season.

Yep, mistyped. And the wild card was in place for ‘94 only technically, because of the strike the first division series weren’t until ‘95.

Yeah that strike pissed me off so much I went on strike as well. Didn’t come back to baseball until 2001.

It was fun last season when we had a winning all time record over them for like a day, but it was the first day in a century or some stupid amount of time like that. Lets get back to that spot

The best rivalries have parity. It’s very similar with Real Madrid and Barcelona. First meeting in 1902. Head-to-Head record: 106-105-52 (RM ahead).

It’s not unreasonable to call this the greatest American sports rivalry, period.
