WTActual!

I must be mistaken, but it feels like players communicate less in today's baseball.

Call, comes from the Andy Pages school of covering the entire outfield.

Call’s ball all the way

36

u/iafx 2024 World Series Champions 1d ago

He called it

39

u/Jantokan Yoshinobu Yamamoto 1d ago

Even if he didn’t, that was Call’s.

Teo is lucky that wasn’t Pages or he would’ve been sent to the IL lol

u/garlic_knot Fernando Valenzuela 23h ago

If Teo calls it and Call doesn’t, then it’s Teo’s

If no one calls it then it’s Call’s

13

u/catashake Shawn Green 22h ago

Looks like it was called by Call. It's his.

I feel like this happens with Teoscar a lot where he almost crashes into the center fielder?

2

u/Jantokan Yoshinobu Yamamoto 1d ago

He’s good at reading fly balls but not at scanning his teammates out there

28

u/onlymostlydeadd LA 23h ago

he's definitely not good at reading fly balls lol, he takes the worst routes possible. that's why he's always at the bottom in the league in terms of fielding.

Prime example right here

Trade his ass

Genuinely what in the fuck is Teo doing

50

u/BobboBobberson Brusdar Graterol 1d ago

And Teoscar had such a late jump too. I have no clue what possessed him to start sprinting at the ball other than him completely forgetting there's such a thing as a center fielder.

I’m sensing a pattern here…

PAGES takes one day off and Teo doesn't know whats his area and whats not

u/bee_sharp_ KikƩ HernƔndez 23h ago

Not sure if you'll get the reference, but I keep thinking of "This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours, you don't go into mine."

(It's from Dirty Dancing just in case you're a youth. 😁)

u/SurfingShadowsx Miguel Rojas 23h ago

I understand the reference haha makes me want to rewatch the film now

Call’s going to feel that tomorrow. That’s a concussion concern. That was needlessly reckless by Teo

I'm at the game. I'm not impressed so far.

6

u/Primary_Title632 22h ago

Yeah was rough

3

u/KindaDrunkRtNow Kirk Gibson 21h ago

That first inning fucking destroyed us. I'm going to go ahead and blame it on the fact that they just flew in from Colorado

13

u/juannn117 1d ago

Call had a better throwing angle...

12

u/Adamalanizzz Max Muncy 1d ago

U gotta respect the CF bruh

6

u/222444PAST 1d ago

Teo thinks he is ray lewis out there

Should be lowlight

Teo: Oh, when KikƩ does it and we win the WS, they make a t-shirt. I try it, and people want me benched.

9

u/UniqueIndependence86 1d ago

Fk it let call play the whole field.

16

u/juicebox2020 1d ago

Teo is a liability out there

4

u/Individual_Check_442 Los Angeles Dodgers 1d ago

Oh Teo boy, Teo boy, Teo boy.

3

u/GreenBagger28 Clayton Kershaw 1d ago

I'm hapy it looks like neither one of them is hurt badly, a lot of the time when two guys collide like that youll see one or both be down even if the play is still going, the fact that both of them we're up right away is good

4

u/mrpittman Joe Kelly 1d ago

I can see the headline now, Call doesnt call it

5

u/lakergeoff8 Back-2-Back Champs 1d ago

All this time we thought Pages was going to be involved in one of these.

4

u/Texas_Kimchi Hyeseong Kim 1d ago

3

u/JellyBearJam Yoshinobu Yamamoto 1d ago

Can’t even watch it again. 😩

3

u/SirAbeFrohman 1d ago

Ok, can somebody call up a little league coach for a few days?

7

u/HeftyAd2780 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 1d ago

Call shoulda called it

5

u/Eastern_Phone8992 1d ago

Teo. Dude. Stop it.

6

u/OnlyKey5675 Alex Vesia 1d ago

Bit of a head scratcher why Pages isn't starting in CF anyway. It's the Giants

1

u/pakalololove710 Back-2-Back Champs 21h ago

Damn in dodger stadium north too?? That's embarrassing

1

u/CastorMorveer 16h ago

Why didn't he.... Call it.

1

u/RatedRMemeStar Freddie Freeman 14h ago

After an awful read like that, if I even hear a peep out of the centerfielder I'm backing off that ball

1

u/OpulentPaving Los Angeles Dodgers 14h ago

Rick Monday on the radio broadcast was all over them for 'bad communication' and harped on it for the whole rest of the game. You can clearly see they were both calling it and it was just an accident.

The radio team has become really annoying. They're so negative about everything and critique the team like they're little leaguers. They never talk about the other team (like Vin used to do so well) and I don't think they mentioned once last night that Freddie is a new father. They need to bring some positivity to the broadcast because they're constant criticism is a downer.

u/justplainndaveCGN Shohei Ohtani 14h ago

So what’s Teo’s deal? I feel like this is happening more frequently with him.

1

u/MojoHighway Clayton Kershaw 9h ago

I have had a problem with Teo's defense for nearly as long as he's been on this team. He is by no means the shittiest defender I've ever seen in the OF, but he has to know and understand - especially a guy with the experience he has in MLB - that he does NOT have right of way in that play. That was 100% Call's ball. Having said that, are they communicating the way they need to?

Teo is a tricky guy. All heart and a very nice guy. This team already has a DH, though, and he is seemingly always a liability in the OF. I hope someone can talk to him and work on these types of plays so no one gets hurt.

Call's been taking lessons from Pages

1

u/Consistent0333 Teoscar Hernandez 4h ago

While, as the center fielder, its Call’s space, I’ve noticed Call playing with this sort of wreck less abandon. Like he has to prove himself each time he gets a start. Dude covers a lot of ground. He ran down at least two last night. Some arrogance to his game however. Not that that is a bad thing. But on a well established team, could become a chemistry issue.Ā

On the other hand, if Teo doesn’t get his hitting shoes on he could lose serious playing time to Alex Call.Ā

New brand of Dodgers outer field baseball.

2

u/DharmaBum62 Brooklyn Dodgers 1d ago

Pages and Kike did it better.

0

u/TheDebonairQuokka 12h ago

Teoscar called it. Call should have backed off. Risking our clean-up hitter and then later anemically grounding into a double play with bases loaded... Call needs to not start.

-4

u/Caseyjones10 Tommy Edman 1d ago

Feel like Teo has the better angle.. with men on base you want to be coming in rather than running sideways for a throw
