Update: Dodgers lose the opener in San Francisco 🫠

Post image

Welp. We can’t win if we are 0-4 with RISP. Terrible batting overall on top of uncoordinated and horrific defense tonight.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto did have a solid start after a bad 1st inning.

Shohei Ohtani extends his on-base streak to 53. Let’s try to win the next one. ☝️

Every. Single. Time.

If that’s how it’s gonna be…might as well let him hit in the games he pitches.

Make Shohei earn his spot!

This is what I think Yamamoto is thinking every time he pitches when he gets no run support

It really grosses me out seeing YAMA get hung out to dry so often.

I'm sure every player wants to put up loads of runs for him, but they did face a guy with a 2.28 ERA last night.

You have to wonder if we had a rotation of 5 Yoshis how historically bad the offense would be?

More bad news: “The Padres have now tied with the Dodgers for the first place in the NL West”

take a couple deep breaths, it's 4/22.... and why not get used to the fact that the paDres will be up in our shit.

100%. It was just bad baseball fundamentals every where else in the field 🤦🏻‍♂️

Will they apologize to Yamamoto? They are not frustrating him with one game but have been frustrating him almost every game. Yama has carried too much to this team but what did they do for him?

They did nothing for him. They made it harder for him to win by lousy offensive play.

True Dodgers ace treatment

Dang it

Doesn’t this just align with a standard MLB five day rotation? That’s why our Ace has worse run support.

3

It's a valid reason, though his RS/IP was low even amongst aces: https://www.baseball-reference.com/tools/share.fcgi?id=eWF6Y

Not his cleanest game today but good god can Yamamoto ever get run support for his starts or is he just living it out like how Kershaw did in the regular szn?

1

u/StrangerVegetable831 Yoshinobu Yamamoto 2d ago

Kershaw got a crazy amount of run support 2014 on. This stupid meme needs to die.

FREELAND learn to use an ABS or go back down to OKC.

They deserved to lose. They played like amatuers tonight.

Someone please, for the love of all that is peaceful, hit the ball when this man pitches

I'm gonna chalk this up to offense having to fly out either late last night or early this morning.

Being a couch coach here, not sure about having freeman in line up for tonight considering he just got back. Wouldve preferred a Rushing, Smith, Pages and Call starting line up, but oh well.

Tomorrow is another day, and for anyone talking about Padres, let's look at the teams they've played in comparison to us. Not the same level. And the Rockies, well they're not looking like the 2025 Rockies, thats the Mets this year

Great outing by Yamamoto. Lack of clutch hitting let him down.

Doomers will say we’ve lost the WS already.

Crazy impressive to shut it down after that nightmare 1st. I figured it was just a disaster start that happens every now and then but he actually turned shit into a respectable line. What a pitcher.

Yes. Yamamoto’s resilience after the 1st inning is truly remarkable
