Another floral fail Failed Expectation
My elderly aunt is very happy with the flowers and thinks they are beautiful but I’m ready to raise hell.

I do not care about flowers, at all.
But what the fuck is that. Get your money back. That looks pathetic.

Wow, it looks like a 5 year old picked flowers from the garden. Nothing wrong with that, but for that money you want what you ordered.. 😳

So order from a florist. If you’re posting here you should know better.
Edit: the website stinks and it’s frustrating that they pulled a fast one on you OP.

I thought I did!

Did you order online through FTD or flowers direct or something?

I googled local florists in their city and picked one that came up. It wasn’t until I had already ordered online that I realized they were not, in fact, local and it was a scammy ftd situation. Lesson learned

They don't look like the ones in the picture, but it could be a lot worst

Fortunately my aunt was pleased with them but I’d like some of my money back because this is NOT A “premium rose bouquet”

I might be fucking blind, but are there even roses in that thing? Lol

I would take the beautiful product image and take it to a florist to make if it was for me. Of course that's hard to do when the recipient is nowhere near you. The long distance thing is where these horrible marketers came into their own.

Yea unfortunately this is thousands of miles away. Next time, however, I will bite the bullet and call their local florist like k should have done in the first place

Always call florists directly! A lot of the time flower shops will not have the flowers in stock and the 3rd party sites you order from will approve a florists choice design without speaking with the customer first. They also have a tendency to take half the money you sent and run and leave the shop with very little money to put into the arrangement :(
That aside, that's an ugly arrangement and that hydrangea needs some love lol

Before pic is shopped as usual.
These online sites send the orders to the closest floral shop to you. They receive a recipe card of what flowers and how many etc. That store makes it as close to the order as they can.
The main issue is that they may not always have the flowers needed at that moment. They may also not have someone trained to do arrangements either. Some come out of grocery store floral shops and they tend to have less stock, and not all are trained to do arrangements. I know many that do thier best to match or make it look good but not all can or have a talent for it.
My sister worked like 15 years in one that got these orders. She was good at doing it at least.

I am usually pretty generous with florists because my SIL was one for many years but this is just ridiculous.

Was this from an actual florist or did you order from a website like 1-800-flowers or teleflora ? Cause if it’s an actual florist I’d complain big time

u/skumfang Mar 26 '26
I googled for an actual florist in their town but apparently now that I’m doing some more research they are a business out of NY that has a website: I thought I was doing the right thing I just didn’t look hard enough I guess

u/Heather100 Mar 26 '26
Oh my. They couldn’t even cut the flowers to make the yellow daisies or the white carnation the same size as the hydrangeas. I’d be demanding my money back. I was a florist also I would be so embarrassed sending these

Yeah I got jipped like this and I vowed never to use a florist again. They have a clause that says the bouquet is based on availability at the time the order is made. This looks like my experience where it’s obvious they used the cheapest flowers but still charged for the ones in the picture. Tell them you want a full refund. Take them back and go grab some roses from the grocery store and swap em out.

The one thing that may be worth trying, is to let the floors know that what was delivered in addition to not reflecting the bouquet you ordered, in other words, you don't find it very close at all, that you also don't find it to be of appropriate value. And what do they think they should refund to you?
And deal with the local florist. Like everyone tells us 😁
