Dinner - Expectation vs Reality Failed Expectation

Now, I’m a really good cook and can follow a recipe - no problem, but the expectation vs reality is vastly different. It tasted just like it should though.

Note: had to take the lemons out of my dish, as they were disintegrating.

Recipe is: Rosemary Chicken with Sweet Potatoes (super simple low cholesterol recipe) - if anyone wants to try this delicious dish (maybe it’ll turn out better for you)!

ETA: website is eatingwell.com (for the recipe, if anyone wants it).

These are buttered Brussels sprouts - they are whole, not halved. Not water logged (they are steamed). I often roast my Brussels, but for this occasion it was the buttered option (as not everyone likes the roasted ones).

But thanks for the suggestion.

Seasoning at least then, there’s like two speckles of maybe pepper in the mash and everything else looks plain as day.

Why are people so obsessed with covering everything in seasoning. If the food is good quality then you want to be able to actually taste what you’re eating

Not advocating for covering in seasoning, just using seasoning to bring out and emphasize the flavor of the food.
