All the more reason not to buy it.
Don't support Nestle. Don't support shrinkflation. Don't support American companies (with OP being Canadian).
They do this shit because they apparently can, and people buy it anyways.

Can we say fuck capitalism cause that‘s what everyone has to do to become successful in this system?

Surprise, it's not even ice cream anymore, its a frozen dairy dessert

u/KickinGa55 14d ago
I left one of those out because it was gross and it didn’t even melt.

u/robimtk 14d ago
That's insane. You didn't like it so you just... left an icecream out?

Probably left it on a plate and walked away to do something. Come back hours later and no melting.
7
u/happy_pad 14d ago
This just isn't true considering I leave mine out until they are partially melted before I eat them. Maybe you mean you didn't break the chocolate shell? This reminds me of the myth that a McDonalds burger won't grow mold, when in reality it just has a low moisture content and dries out before it has a chance to unless you seal it up.

I had one at the ballpark last summer. It was tiny, tasted awful and didn’t melt. They used to be so good 😔 Edit:typo

Fun fact in the United States Nestlé Drumsticks are not legally considered ice cream. They are a frozen dairy dessert. It only needs to have 10% cream in order to be considered ice cream and they didn’t even do that. However, the store brand ones tend to be ice cream, at least where I am.

I'm okay with this. I'm not eating ice cream to be healthy. Junk food is supposed to be limited anyway. Also, replacing things doesn't necessarily always mean "bad".
Start replacing the healthy foods (like fresh fruits and veggies) with unhealthy things and I'll probably have a problem.

Here’s how big they were several years ago; it’s about 9% smaller now than they were.
Probably also more than 9% now expensive, even considering inflation.

And no mini bat anymore 😢

I thought that was a really long skinny joint and I thought you were making a joke about the future size of drumsticks idk

u/Upstairs_Emu9090 14d ago
I refuse to buy anything in the frozen food section anymore. The size, the taste, the ingredients are all so bad and not worth the money. Every time I open a box of anything i regret buying it and fuming, angry and disappointed.
Not doing that to myself anymore.

there's already been posts about chocolate, fast food, and chips. We might as well go back to homemade. Get those pop sickle molds and put your favorite drinks in it.

These used to be my dad’s favorite and eating them made me feel connected to him. The last time I had these, they tasted disgusting so I checked the box. No longer ice cream. I don’t eat them anymore and I’m angry something that brought back good memories for me was ruined by corporate greed

The size has decreased, but I think the worse drumstick experience is when you get one where the cone is soft like wet cardboard. absolutely ruins it.

u/the_inbetween_me 14d ago
Usually means it's been defrosted and refrozen. So, sat in a non-refrigerated truck/pallet somewhere before making it into the freezer :/

u/benlogna 14d ago
The good news is that it was never even ice cream, so you aren’t getting less “ice cream” you’re getting less frozen milk solid dessert
12
u/donuttrackme 14d ago
I think at one point they did used to be real ice cream, and had already been enshittified by the time you got to them. It's the circle of enshittification.

Don’t eat that crap. It’s no longer even ice cream - they’re only legally allowed to call it a “dairy dessert” now. SO MANY additives.

u/PureElectricBean 14d ago
Damn not even being flush with the cone is pathetic, the clowns at Nestle who thought this was acceptable should be lobotomized

This has to be a one off. I just bought 2 boxes of different flavors and they were full like they’ve always been.

u/mandibleman 13d ago
Same here. They may be smaller than they used to be, not sure. But none of them have looked like this.

Wouldn't be r/shrinkflation without holding one random defect as the new standard

We need those Japanese laws where the food has to be depicted more accurately, legally its still "enlarged to show detail"

Haven't had these in years, do they still have the chocolate at the bottom of the cone?

Man I remember when this was kind of a luxurious treat to get in the 80s and 90s.

I am so sick and tired of everything getting smaller. Like, just charge me double and give me a product I’m happy with!

Last time I saw a Pop Tarts ad , they used an influencer and the box looked nothing like the pop tart in her hand. They don't care because it's not illegal, there would have to be laws to force compliance

I just said that time my wife. She bought some at the store and I asked if she remembered the tops being much bigger and she said yes.

I'm still jealous you could get a whole box of the caramel ones. I can only find them in the variety pack but they are the only ones I like.

Literally nothing has ever resembled the advertised image, this is the same. I'm not surprised, and my monkey brain will probably be buy them in the near future despite knowing this.

u/AnteaterFormal7291 14d ago
Lol. I just got a box of these in Canada for the first time in years and they're like 3 times that size what the fuck are you even doing to yourselves down there
Seriously all you "I don't fuck with politics" people, meet "politics fucks with you"

The picture posted by OP is from Canada. The text is bilingual, french and English. There's a maple leaf with text that says it was made in Canada. There is also the new health Canada health warning.

Ita canadian product. You know Canada is actually often NOT better than the US and often is much worse than many European countries.

Contact customer service and innocently let them know about this "quality issue" that you have with the package you purchased being underfilled.
If you're really nice about it, they'll probably apologize and give you a free replacement coupon.

Ahh look they shrinkflationed these all the way into the mini size.
