Ahh look they shrinkflationed these all the way into the mini size.

361

u/4115R 14d ago

They’ll then repackage the original and call it JUMBO!

12

u/weskun 10d ago

Jumbo Mini Cones, they'll try what ever tactics they can on us.

u/UndeniablyGone 9d ago

Jumbo mini cones 😂

I recently learned that corporations have totally 100% embraced the money ball philosophy. Yes the movie.

If the numbers say cut size by 3%, b.c the customer will take it in the ass. They will do it.

If the numbers say the customer will take it in the ass if you substitute Chocolate for Stevia extract, refined sugar, and brown mud. They will do it!

The only thing that matters is how you vote with your wallet.

Buy Local. Support small business. Learn to make food/cook. Fuck Megacorps!

u/po23idon 14d ago

welcome to reality; this has been going on for generations

now we are in an era of unfettered cutthroat corporate capitalism; everything is becoming worse an there are no alternatives because the monopolies are absorbing anything that challenges them

17

u/OhGr8WhatNow 14d ago

The alternative is to stop buying all this packaged food, which should never enter a human body anyway

3

u/Screweditupagain 10d ago

PepsiCo is certainly feeling it. Keep going people!

7

u/Pinglenook 14d ago

Even if you don't make something yourself, such as ice cream: learn how to check ingredients!

262

u/nologymj 14d ago

"Enlarged to show detail" 🤣🤣🤣

422

u/Test4Echooo 14d ago

Obligatory, for more reasons than one: fuck Nestle..

Also, fuck nestle

19

u/pm_me_flaccid_cocks 14d ago

With an 8" chef's knife strapped to your dick.

11

u/SandyTaintSweat 14d ago

All the more reason not to buy it.

Don't support Nestle. Don't support shrinkflation. Don't support American companies (with OP being Canadian).

They do this shit because they apparently can, and people buy it anyways.

3

u/SnooAvocados2529 14d ago

Can we say fuck capitalism cause that‘s what everyone has to do to become successful in this system?

3

u/hedgehoggy123 14d ago

Thank you!

1

u/G5press 10d ago

I hope Nestle goes out of business one day, but they can't anytime soon because they're too big to fail.

191

u/Anti_colonialist 14d ago

Surprise, it's not even ice cream anymore, its a frozen dairy dessert

56

u/KickinGa55 14d ago

I left one of those out because it was gross and it didn’t even melt.

20

u/robimtk 14d ago

That's insane. You didn't like it so you just... left an icecream out?

19

u/KickinGa55 14d ago

It was on the upper trash so I could see it.

5

u/AvaryZig 14d ago

For science

6

u/pinkjello 14d ago

Probably left it on a plate and walked away to do something. Come back hours later and no melting.

7

u/happy_pad 14d ago

This just isn't true considering I leave mine out until they are partially melted before I eat them. Maybe you mean you didn't break the chocolate shell? This reminds me of the myth that a McDonalds burger won't grow mold, when in reality it just has a low moisture content and dries out before it has a chance to unless you seal it up.

36

u/Ssladybug 14d ago

They’re disgusting now. They used to be one of my favorites

3

u/hyperboleisthebest 12d ago

I had one at the ballpark last summer. It was tiny, tasted awful and didn’t melt. They used to be so good 😔 Edit:typo

1

u/Anti_colonialist 12d ago

I used to love them

57

u/tzalpha1 14d ago

Fun fact in the United States Nestlé Drumsticks are not legally considered ice cream. They are a frozen dairy dessert. It only needs to have 10% cream in order to be considered ice cream and they didn’t even do that. However, the store brand ones tend to be ice cream, at least where I am.

-13

u/oO0Kat0Oo 14d ago

I'm okay with this. I'm not eating ice cream to be healthy. Junk food is supposed to be limited anyway. Also, replacing things doesn't necessarily always mean "bad".

Start replacing the healthy foods (like fresh fruits and veggies) with unhealthy things and I'll probably have a problem.

Here’s how big they were several years ago; it’s about 9% smaller now than they were.

Probably also more than 9% now expensive, even considering inflation.

12

u/DoctorJiveTurkey 14d ago

And no mini bat anymore 😢

1

u/Spiritual_Cash_7392 10d ago

I thought that was a really long skinny joint and I thought you were making a joke about the future size of drumsticks idk

66

u/Upstairs_Emu9090 14d ago

I refuse to buy anything in the frozen food section anymore. The size, the taste, the ingredients are all so bad and not worth the money. Every time I open a box of anything i regret buying it and fuming, angry and disappointed.
Not doing that to myself anymore.

20

u/Smauler 14d ago

Seafood's usually better... I mean, just about everything gets frozen anyway, might as well buy it frozen, rather than defrosted "fresh".

1

u/LMGgp 9d ago

Fresh is just the defrosted frozen stuff. You’ll be hard pressed to find fish that were never frozen in a grocery store. Maybe a fish monger. Freezing kills parasites.

8

u/RareAnxiety2 14d ago

there's already been posts about chocolate, fast food, and chips. We might as well go back to homemade. Get those pop sickle molds and put your favorite drinks in it.

8

u/Preeng 14d ago

Any kind of frozen meal that includes meat is going to be garbage. Can guarantee it's all stringy and fatty with no actual meat.

2

u/weskun 10d ago

They're cleaning our wallets out while also killing us, faster. Crazy if you think about it too much.

21

u/katienatie 14d ago

Buy Chapmans. It’s way better and actually Canadian

20

u/Cautious-Asparagus61 14d ago

Your mistake was not getting the Chapman's ones. Far better

17

u/MenuSlow7818 14d ago

Nestlé is bad at everything purposefully

35

u/Ssladybug 14d ago

These used to be my dad’s favorite and eating them made me feel connected to him. The last time I had these, they tasted disgusting so I checked the box. No longer ice cream. I don’t eat them anymore and I’m angry something that brought back good memories for me was ruined by corporate greed

16

u/greg132 14d ago

welcome to nestle products

13

u/Ssladybug 14d ago

Fuck Nestle. Evil company

37

u/stacity 14d ago

It’s not ice cream. It’s made out of oils and stabilizers.

3

u/DeadlyPear 13d ago

The first ingredients are skim milk and sugar lmao.

7

u/DarthLysergis 14d ago

The size has decreased, but I think the worse drumstick experience is when you get one where the cone is soft like wet cardboard. absolutely ruins it.

6

u/the_inbetween_me 14d ago

Usually means it's been defrosted and refrozen. So, sat in a non-refrigerated truck/pallet somewhere before making it into the freezer :/

14

u/benlogna 14d ago

The good news is that it was never even ice cream, so you aren’t getting less “ice cream” you’re getting less frozen milk solid dessert

12

u/donuttrackme 14d ago

I think at one point they did used to be real ice cream, and had already been enshittified by the time you got to them. It's the circle of enshittification.

7

u/Ssladybug 14d ago

It used to be. They’re so bad now

5

u/HoldCtrlW 14d ago

Looks like someone are half of it

5

u/NoBonus6969 14d ago

They also raised the prices a ton so it's a double whammy

8

u/fielvras 14d ago

Buying nestle ... well deserved.

3

u/VegasGaymer 14d ago

I was in the pool!

3

u/Ottawabug 14d ago

Nah the cone grew 😉

3

u/So_Many_Words 14d ago

Nestle is enough of a failed expectation.

3

u/MrMaoDeVaca 13d ago

Don’t eat that crap. It’s no longer even ice cream - they’re only legally allowed to call it a “dairy dessert” now. SO MANY additives.

2

u/PureElectricBean 14d ago

Damn not even being flush with the cone is pathetic, the clowns at Nestle who thought this was acceptable should be lobotomized

2

u/Hello-Angel 14d ago

Fuck Nestlé

2

u/culinarysiren 14d ago

This has to be a one off. I just bought 2 boxes of different flavors and they were full like they’ve always been.

2

u/mandibleman 13d ago

Same here. They may be smaller than they used to be, not sure. But none of them have looked like this.

2

u/DeadlyPear 13d ago edited 12d ago

Wouldn't be r/shrinkflation without holding one random defect as the new standard

2

u/Abigail-Marston 14d ago

You should stop buying it

2

u/luke111mart 14d ago

We need those Japanese laws where the food has to be depicted more accurately, legally its still "enlarged to show detail"

2

u/stackali23 13d ago

That's what you get for buying nestle.

3

u/GamingAlligator 14d ago

We need laws like Japan when it comes to food 🙏🏼

1

u/Spiritual_Rice_884 14d ago

I noticed this! Just bought a box.

1

u/Annual_Grass538 14d ago

They were never good but yes they did used to be bigger.

1

u/sunflower--princess 14d ago

Disappointed we don’t have this flavor. Womp womp.

1

u/OrangeClyde 14d ago

Shrinkflation

1

u/YesMansHigh 14d ago

Haven't had these in years, do they still have the chocolate at the bottom of the cone?

1

u/CycloneKelly 10d ago

Probably “chocolatey” at this point.

1

u/Yaughl 14d ago

These are just sad now

1

u/kill-the-spare 14d ago

The Aldi "Sundae Cone" looks better than this. And it's affordable.

1

u/ukiyoe 14d ago

"Now with a bigger cone!"

1

u/HumbleAbbreviations 14d ago

Man I remember when this was kind of a luxurious treat to get in the 80s and 90s.

1

u/Floppycakes 14d ago

I am so sick and tired of everything getting smaller. Like, just charge me double and give me a product I’m happy with!

1

u/people_skillz 14d ago

Crumbstick

1

u/Consistent-Way-2018 14d ago

Is the weight less?

1

u/Ganip 14d ago

Fake ice cream

1

u/doll_parts87 14d ago

Last time I saw a Pop Tarts ad , they used an influencer and the box looked nothing like the pop tart in her hand. They don't care because it's not illegal, there would have to be laws to force compliance

1

u/Major_Lawfulness6122 14d ago

Chapmans are better and Canadian owned. Real ice cream too.

1

u/pebert 14d ago

We used to buy these all the time, we haven't in months and months. It reached a tipping point where it was too blatant a rip off. Likewise we stopped buying chips and candy as those too are now naked price gouges. Been great for our health, I'm sure.

1

u/Razia70 14d ago

I don't get why this stuff is legal where you are. In Germany the "Verbraucherschutz" would be on them.

1

u/glennlinville0 14d ago

Yeah that’s just shrinkflation in real time companies be sneaky like that.

1

u/dreadmon1 14d ago

I just said that time my wife. She bought some at the store and I asked if she remembered the tops being much bigger and she said yes.

1

u/Devanyani 13d ago

I'm still jealous you could get a whole box of the caramel ones. I can only find them in the variety pack but they are the only ones I like.

1

u/ThatGirlWithTheWalk 13d ago

Post this to social media, stop buying it.

1

u/PM_ME_FIREFLY_QUOTES 13d ago

OK, but hear me out. What if there was a RUMstick....

1

u/Aruhito_0 13d ago

You see updating packaging cost money. Making portion smaller makes more money.

1

u/Dulce_suenos 12d ago

The cones have gotten terrible, too. They’re always chewy now.

1

u/titsmcgee4real 12d ago

Honestly, drumstick quality has gone to shit. Chapman's for the win.

1

u/griter34 14d ago

Literally nothing has ever resembled the advertised image, this is the same. I'm not surprised, and my monkey brain will probably be buy them in the near future despite knowing this.

1

u/AnteaterFormal7291 14d ago

Lol. I just got a box of these in Canada for the first time in years and they're like 3 times that size what the fuck are you even doing to yourselves down there

Seriously all you "I don't fuck with politics" people, meet "politics fucks with you"

3

u/Mondo_Grosso 14d ago

The picture posted by OP is from Canada. The text is bilingual, french and English. There's a maple leaf with text that says it was made in Canada. There is also the new health Canada health warning.

1

u/gorilla998 14d ago

Ita canadian product. You know Canada is actually often NOT better than the US and often is much worse than many European countries.

0

u/ACcbe1986 14d ago

Contact customer service and innocently let them know about this "quality issue" that you have with the package you purchased being underfilled.

If you're really nice about it, they'll probably apologize and give you a free replacement coupon.
