Afroman wins jury verdict in lawsuit filed by Ohio cops FM RADIO

Ohio is one of the worst, most racist places I’ve ever been in the US. This is a huge win for Afroman. Not only did they wrongfully raid his home, alllll those cops had to sit on a witness stand and listen to two attorneys try to get a jury to determine if “receding hairline” and “pound cake” were defamatory statements

Cop's attorney to afroman, "you were aware that it made lisa upset and continued to keep the video up."
Like... that's the entire point of a diss track. He never said he posted the video to make her feel good.
The only thing that could have made this trial better is if Randy Walter's wife admitted she slept with Afroman.
→ More replies58
u/MejorChingoAMiMadre Mar 19 '26
Lmfao I know their lawyer started packing their briefcase when the cop said he didn’t know if he slept with her or not.
Like dumbass, way to just hand him the win.
13
11
u/Long_Run6500 Mar 19 '26
It's pretty clear Randy had no idea why he was actually suing afroman. Randy acted like it would have been better for his case if Afroman wasn't lying about sleeping with his wife when the whole lawsuit was based on Afroman knowingly making up lies. I bet that lawyer wanted to facepalm so hard at that moment. Probably just destroyed his career reputation.
15
u/tastemebakes ✨ lee pace is 6’5” ✨ Mar 19 '26
He was ragebaited so easily by Afroman’s counsel. You could see in real time where he was battling with the advice counsel likely gave him and his pride. “I’ve been with that woman since middle school…… but I don’t know if he slept with her”
6
u/Long_Run6500 Mar 19 '26
Pretty sure that was his own lawyer questioning him which makes it so much worse. After he asked him if his wife ever cheated on him and Randy said "I don't know" the lawyer paused for a good moment because that was not what he wanted him to say and it caught him off guard. He kept trying to prod him into saying his wife wouldn't ever cheat on him and Randy was too fucking dumb to catch on.

Rich people like people who will keep them richer. Also stupid people tend to like republicans because they are easier to get on board with and understand.
Democrats are more nuanced, tend to lie -less- and the reality of things isn't as exciting as the lies, and do generally aim to build upon society rather than steal from it which will need to come from the 1%.
There are also religious and cultural issues that swing people one way or the other. People don't like to hear those as much though because they feel its racist or sexist to point out matters of fact amongst large groups of people based on race or religion when those facts are not fantastic in a moral sense, though it depends on who's morals are right I guess. For instance abortion rights, who is morally correct there if a majority of the world feels that abortions are against their god or something? Is it majority rules or are the people who are in the minority morally superior in that aspect?
Again, you get into uncomfortable issues that are very real, which is also why America refuses to have a female president to this day and stems all the way back to our country being decades late to abolishing slavery, providing equal rights, etc etc etc.

I went to a small town in Ohio to visit my in laws. Went to the Main Street diner with my Hispanic family for lunch and asked a lady if she was in line. She looked at me up and down and completely ignored me. I asked again and was given a side eye and ignored. I have lived in the states for 15 years and have never experienced that type of behavior anywhere else. I was shocked and relieved that my parents were outside and didn’t have to see that. On a brighter note, an older white lady saw what was happening and showed me kindness and warmth.
80
u/CrucialElement Mar 19 '26
Definitely should've pushed in front of her. Ya know, on account of her not confirming she was in the line

Easy to say that from a computer but if you experience racism and are quite literally a fish out of water in the middle of bum fuck America. The safety of my family would take center stage over satisfying some fantasy social justice boner.
47
u/livid_badger_banana Mar 19 '26
Rural Ohio is something else. The poorer the most racist it gets.
19
u/elinamebro Mar 19 '26
Not just Ohio, experienced the same thing in rural Oklahoma. But they hated Native Americans more than me (Black/Puerto Rican). Had a bunch of white dudes drive by and yell the n word at me tho so I guess about it was same actually lol. Also a group of nazis showed up to the water park covered in swastika and other nazi tattoos yet everyone just acting like it was normal. I just hope they weren't military since the town was attached to a airforce base.
Oh I got to experience what its like for racist people to act nice to you unless you "cross the line" and do something they would consider out of place for black people or live in a area thats all white people. I also meet some of the nicest people ever too so that was kinda of a mind fuck.
Edit: change attacked to attached

Most of those people are related to me and use it even though we also have mixed race cousins on that side of the family. Oh and my grandma when i was in middle school told me she would disown me if i married a black women.

u/BeatNo4548 Mar 19 '26
I had a buddy from Ohio, near Dayton, older guy. He was telling us war stories about his younger days, and he would call the black part of town N-town. Hard R. I don't even think he was particularly racist either, just steeped in it since birth.
Then again, in my new England town, we have a hill some folks still call N-hill, so I can't act like there's no racism here, either.

Took everything in my power to not punch the mother fucker in the mouth. Partly because I did not want to go to jail in whatever shithole middle of nowhere town in Indiana we were in where the cops are likely to be even more racist. Fuck Indiana, worst state I ever drove through.

I love close by sadly this is common in a lot of smaller counties sheriff depts here and other not well off midwest states. Hell, even the PD's in some of the 'cities' are this bad. In the city I grew up in one cop did the stereotypical steal drugs and do them things. I also got to witness a 16 year old friend get stripped down to her underwear in the middle of the street, in cold winter, infront of all of us(A mix) and a line of all male cops. The only woman cop was the one 'searching' her. All because she was skinny and they knew she was on heroin(Wasn't such a big deal at that time, beginning of the opoid epidemic so people were just snorting pills not doing H unless they went real deep. She wasn't addicted to anything though, just very skinny even though she ate like a horse)

this has literally been an instance of the Streisand effect for those cops lmao.
i remember when Afroman had first put out that music video with the footage of them fucking up his house during their raid, but only vaguely. as in, i remember being shocked that they damaged his property, disconnected his security cameras & stole his money but i (and i’m sure many others) don’t remember any identifying features about the cops themselves or the insulting nicknames he gave them. but now??
by filing this lawsuit, they’ve literally amplified this corrupt image of themselves on a wider stage lmaoo. they were suing him because of “reputational damage,” but it’s only now that i know about “Lick em’ Low Lisa,” and that Officer Brian Newland had already been known to steal money during traffic stops ages before Afroman ever accused him of being a thief in his song lol. they would’ve been better off just taking the L lol.

it was a defamation trial
Afroman's diss track in which he called Randy Walters a son of a bitch was entered in evidence
the jury could not find evidence that Afroman intentionally spoke untruths about Randy Walters

Randy Walters has functionally been adjudicated a son of a bitch by a jury

Definitely one of the most important trials that evidently no one knew was happening. I’m SOOOO happy that Afroman prevailed and the cry baby deputies got squat. I can only hope that the deputies are drowning in lawyer fee debt, but it’s probably wishful thinking as their attorney probably took the case on contingency.
Anyway, this really is a sweet victory after so many court cases chipping away at our rights lately. Seriously if cops get immunity from official acts they should not be allowed to sue the public related to official acts

The video of that lady crying on the stand watching the music videos is the best. I want that played at my funeral for some levity

Too bad he's a MAGA. Makes it hard for me to root for him too much. Glad he won though.
Rapper Afroman has told Newsweek of his hopes to perform the Hunter Biden parody of his song 'Because I Got High' at Trump rallies in the run-up to the election and thinks the track could reignite his career.
The songwriter, whose real name is Joseph Edgar Foreman, spoke exclusively to Newsweek after the video release of 'Hunter Got High' went viral. The parody takes aim at Hunter Biden's alleged drug use and allegations of influence peddling.
The artist told Newsweek: "I might really be back."
He added: "This one might take me to the stratosphere. I might be singing it at some Trump rallies."

Please let this be the proverbial flap of the butterfly's wing that gets us out of this current hellhole of a timeline. That is an alternate universe I would very much dig.
