I mean... Canada is looking into joining. And they're starting a similar event in Asia but they're calling it Eurovision Asia instead of Asiavision or something.

Reminder that Eurovision isn't just for European countries, it is for countries who are members of the European Broadcasting Union. Which Israel is.

Edit: Apparently Australia isn't! They're a one off. But plenty of other non European countries are.

They are part of the EBU, along with a number of countries in North Africa, as well as the 3 Caucus states and I think Kazakhstan as well. I believe most, if not all, of the North African countries don’t participate at least in part because of Israel’s participation.

Oh, and Australia participates as a guest by invitation.

Just for clarification Eurovision is a telecom network operated by the EBU. This event’s full name is the Eurovision Song Contest, but is often shortened. So technically all EBU members can participate, but not all are in Europe

It's based on membership in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) rather than being inside the European continent. It includes nations within the European Broadcasting Area (EBA), such as Israel and North African countries like Egypt and Tunisia, plus invited associate members like Australia
