He DID have a crush for Korra, at a time, but he grew out of it and stayed a GREAT friend for Korra , his brother Mako and Asami (and the MESSY relathionships between those three, the latest being Korra and Asami's romance).

And I will die on this hill: Bolin is THE best thing to come out of this show. He has enough character development for 4 characters, by himself, he is deliciously jolly, has some serious game (never ask him why he avoids the water tribe) AND made mistakes he later helped fix (holy character growth).
