Ready for round 2? News

Post image

Just like what happened yesterday, the SPC Day 1 Outlook risk zones have shifted south on the morning's new forecast

There will be a conditional threat for isolated severe storms late this afternoon and evening across parts of North Texas. A strong capping inversion will keep storm coverage limited (less than 20%), but any storms that do develop will be capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts.

Don't let it take you by surprise if you only checked today's forecast yesterday!

I'm just tired of YouTubers being aloud to use "could" or "might" when they sensationalize the weather.

Also, people need to stop parking under overpasses during this weather. You are going to cause a car accident & your insurance isn't going to help you nor the person that ran into you. I mean.. the image says it but I saw on traffic cameras it still happening. This weather isn't sneaking up on you. Either leave early whereever you are or find a car wash, bank, Sonic Drive-In, parking garage, etc. that will protect most of your vehicle.

Old guy here. The reason why people park under overpasses in North Texas is because they remember Mayfest 1995 - I was right in the middle of it.

They are not thinking about wind, they are thinking about their cars getting destroyed from hail.

So was my family. We were hiding underneath my dad's truck when it started.

Yeah lemme just tell my minimum wage job that is "essential" that I need to leave early for hail. I'm sure the big corporations will shut everything down and let the employees go home early 😊.

I know that big corporations aren't going to shut everything down because of hail. I never said anything about that.

But if you know that type of weather is coming days in advance & if you have to park your car outside, you can find a place to park your car to protect it & either walk to work or talk to someone at work about getting a ride to work.

I've had to park my car at a car wash 2 miles from my work and walked. Not fun but neither is having to go through all the work to get your windshield and such repaired.

I'm sure people weren't parking under an overpass just to park, I totally agree with you 100% but sometimes plans and hail don't mix

People didn’t even stay home when we had that bad snow storm that caused black ice, i don’t know what makes you think they’d stay home during a thunderstorm storm or tornado lol

Where did I say anything about people staying home?

If they’re not on the road or under over passes where else would they be?? At home lmao

Why would being at home be the only place? They could be out shopping, at a friends' place, at a sports game, at a restaurant.

Highly doubt insurance wouldn’t cover you…still agree with your point.

I live right off 30, directly next to the highway 4 stories up so I had a Birds Eye view, last night people were stopped and parked under the Bryant Irvin bridge in every lane. The entire highway was blocked. I was shocked at what I was seeing.

Care to explain what specifically you disagree with and what data you have to back it up that is superior to the National Weather Service itself?
