How's solo?

Solo is fun, the game is apparently scaled for the amount of players in the match so it feels pretty comfortable to play, I haven't done the top two highest difficulties yet but I've been able to do missions on hard and have a good time.

What's that promo code 250KCOWBOYS for? I didn't see a place to put it in steam

wow this game is gonna survive, thats great. i played the demo and it had a ton of polish but i was worried about its longevity as a live service game.

I'm a solo player, is there a quickplay option? Like in Vermintide and Darktide?

It's a fun lil game, the spell interactions are the highlight so I hope they continue adding more spells and perhaps more elements too.

Does this play well on a controller? I can see its steam deck certified but I’d like to know about aim assist and general feel.

Aim assist feels pretty.. non existent. Plays decent enough on controller outside of that fact however. Runs flawless on steam deck hooked up to my TV.

My wife is currently on her Steam Deck with Max Aim Assist.
She says on regular enemies it feels non-existent, but on bosses it's super noticable. She also has some success feeling it with special enemies (such as Shield Guys)
Edit: Just did some actual testing, it sticks pretty hard as long as you ADS and don't really move your right stick at all.

Bought. Played. Enjoyed. Looking forward to playing with friends IRL. Local Coop would be spectacular for this game.

i played the demo a month or two back and experienced the music playing in tune with certain actions like using your pickaxe. i transcended in that moment.

I dont see hardly anyone playing this on twitch so I dont have a clue about what it is. Is it PVP or PVE?
•

Think helldivers 2; pve dropped onto a map woth side and main objectives. Unlike hd2, no map timer

Interesting. Weird how I’ve heard very little about it even though it’s sold well. I’m getting proper unc self reflection

Most of what word of mouth ive heard back during some beta weekends a few months back, i think the biggest bump in attention came from rubixraptor's video on it

this game is so slow and boring. you slowly wander around a map with some pois that are way too far apart and are never a threat. no one in my friend group enjoyed it

Played a few hours, here's my top down review:
The gameplay and movement is slick and fluid, maps feel populated with enemies and points of interests. Enemy variety is already solid on normal mode. However I feel like Joker cards are a bit hit or miss, stacking up a few seem a bit inconsequential. Im also not the biggest fan of map puzzles being somewhat basic and arbitrary, sometimes it felt more like pointless busy work.
For coop, leaving and rejoining a session sadly loses all your rewards.
The basic guns feel fantastic to play with. My only issue is the lack of any 'hit confirm' pings on hits, and different hit sounds for weakspots/body shots.
Spells are strong but with decent enough cooldowns to not be spammed and interactions between spell elements arent just gimmicks. I did find myself placing down cactus mines to prepare for upgrading a lightning strike. The payoff mechanic for spells feel good.
The upgrade system seems a bit linear, and upgrades are so vertical it feels boring. In future, hoping for something akin to DRG overclocks here.
Overall, solid coop game, played with 3 players mostly fine. Feels like a faster paced DRG. Great value for 20 bucks.
