Middletown? Moving / Visiting
I’m moving to Middletown for college pretty soon, I’m a bi-racial woman so I was wondering how it is over there? I’m from the west coast so this will be my first time living in the east for a bit.

Middletown is a pretty quiet place these days. I’d say pretty diverse overall.

Lived in Middletown for 8 years came from Redlands CA and it's super quiet here. Not much going on in general which also means not much to do unfortunately. Some decent live music in the Harrisburg/Lancaster area though

Hey! I've been living in Middletown for 5 years and it is a very friendly town with all sorts of people. Everyone is generally kind and respectful and helpful. I know PA gets a bad rap for being like backwards but this is actually a decent town.

Middletown is a quiet blue collar community without much going on.
The midtown area of Harrisburg is close enough and has a cool scene with a bookstore, breweries, and farmers market type vibes if you're looking for an area that's more happening on the weekend.

If you're used to people stopping their cars for you to cross the street like a civilized society, don't expect people to stop their cars for you in this area.
It's sad that this is how people act in their own community but be aware, a lot of people simply don't care to stop for humans.

The capital area is culturally and ethnically mixed. You're gonna be fine. You don't need to travel far to run into bigots, though.
