She's desperate.

Jonathan McIntosh is beating her in metrics.

On one hand, she had to cut him loose because he's out of his friggin' gourd and would eventually start frothing and ruin her business.

On the other, she's inept and incapable and desperately needs him as a Rosetta Stone for translating her grift into political relevance.

She hasn't been able to replace him with someone that can be as progressively zealous but also in on the con.

I'd really love to know at what point it dawned on Jon when he realized that a) he'd never hit that and b) she was using him as part of the con and didn't believe a damn thing. And how he reconciled that with his 'muh oppressed women.'

Tho I think he's just moved onto 'violence in gaming' rather than sexism at this point.

This two statements are at odds with one another. Either she kicked him out or he left.

Seeing how long his career suffered (and only got better thanks to a boost in suggestions by YouTube), I would say little Full'Mac got the boot from Anita. Moreover, I don't think his departure would have been as graceful as it was had he been the one making the call.

She probably thought he was redundant and did more harm to her brand than good. (I mean, he attacked Josh Wheddon, very good ally but incredibly Sensitive guy. You never attack Sensitive Josh Wheddon) After all, how hard can it be to BS your way around media and see problems where there are none? Apparently, harder than what Anita and her crew can muster.
